2004-2005 VS 2006 WEIGHT?

Searched but could not find an exact answer.

I understand the 2006 used a different and possibly heavier frame, though I have also read the 2006 frame is stronger but actually weighs less...?

Long story short... Is there any definitive proof that the 2006 is heavier than the 04-05? I am using the truck for racing and would like to start off with the lightest truck I can. (reg cab) Thanks

The 2006 used the Ram 2500 Chassis and comes in about 300 lbs heaver than the 04-05 trucks.

So if you are looking to save weight the 04-05 is the way to go....

dayummm 300 lbs is alot, so that means the 04-05 should be faster than my 06?

Just adding on to this. The weight difference between a RC and QC is what 600lbs? so in theory a 04-05 QC is only 300lbs heavier then a 06 RC?

If your gonna be drag racing I would start with an 04 because the front brake calipers are smaller giving more options for lighter front wheels, road racing I would go with the 05 because of the larger calipers

Tony is right. After 50k I still have a 5200 lb. brick. But it is one fast brick in the turns. If you are going drag racing first get a car. Then drop a 572 chevy in it and have fun. The mopar gods are going to send me to hell.
