I guess I'm a dummy but did you guys know that 2004 and 2005 trucks have a completely different front frame section and steering system than the 2006's, and also the Oil pans are different. I spent about an hour trying to jam an 06 engine into an 04 model last night before I realized the pans were completely different. What really freaked me out was how much different the 2006's frame and lower engine bay were from the 2004. I have both trucks here with both engines removed and never noticed it. I mean they are totally different! Anyway, changed the pans and oil pick-ups over and it will go right in.

I knew, I knew! And I heard that because they are different, the 06 QC's weigh about 250lbs more than the 05's.

Good to know

Don't forget to swap the engine mounts and dip stick assy.,They are also different. The engine mount bolts go into the mounts in the opposite direction too.If your swapping a q/c to a r/c,Plan a loooong night:D

The '06s have a hydroformed frame completely different from the '04-'05s. I thought I heard that all our trucks had 2500 frames.

Very good to know, I have an 06 qc engine I was thinking of puting in my truck! How bad is the swap from 04 to an 06 engine, other than the pan?

engine mounts basically, they are different frames all together and Cobra ken says, and you may have to play iwth thewiring a little bit, since some of the boxes are in different locations, but swap mounts and oil pans and be happy
