2008 Dodge Challenger to be built in Brampton, Ontario

Toronto, Ontario - DaimlerChrysler announced that the all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger will be built at its Brampton Assembly Plant near Toronto. Production of the Dodge Challenger will begin next year and preparations to ready the plant are already underway. The Brampton plant also produces the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Magnum which use the same platform as the Challenger.

First revealed as a concept vehicle at the North American International (Detroit) Auto Show in 2006, it was announced this past summer that the Dodge Challenger would be going into production in 2008.

The decision to build the Challenger in Ontario was partially a result of the Ontario government's strong support for the Brampton Assembly Plant through its contribution to the plant-wide third shift training Program, said Reid Bigland, President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler Canada.

Since the concept car's introduction, Dodge.com has received a total of 1.5 million visits to the Challenger section of the website in 2006, and 20,000 potential customers have asked the company for more product information regarding the car.

Like the original 1970 Challenger, the production version of the 2008 Dodge Challenger will be a two-door, rear-drive coupe powered by a Hemi V8 engine, but it will meet all current safety, emissions and performance standards.

The 300c and the Challenger will both be slated to receive the new folding hard top in 2009.

Supposedly a 6.4L Hemi,392 cu in,525HP, I think that could work very nicely for me !!!!The wife's willing to trade in her V70R for it too !!!!

There are no plans for the SRT8 until 09 production.

At the rate of thier progression up to the neatest one ,I could be too damn old by the time they get to that point
A lot will depend on what kind of deal my Mopar connection can get me either that or wait till I can pick one up wholesale. I just hate things that depriciate and figure that someone else can do that . I also admitt I find it hard to spend that kind of money when I can build some bad stuff for that kind of money ,gotta member I own the place and since I help the guys on thier stuff after hours they do the same for me so no labor and cheap part come in handy <G>

There may not even be a Chrysler/ Dodge brand by then:( Dr. Z announced today on the news tha All options were on the table as over 10,000 workers and 3 assemble plants are to be shut down after Huge losses. The major option seems to be headed in the End of Chrysler/ Dodge, as they are open to selling the entire Company......,However no none Auto maker is up for the purchase "Leaving All Options Open"

I think it is just about over for the US Auto Makers>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I heard 15000 workers
You are correct in that neither of the big 3 could buy each other at this point , Gm & Ford have both lost money for far too long and are as unstable as Mopar . There were talks on GM selling GMAC and that would be insane as it's the only Div that was making money ,,,duhhh:dontknow: :dontknow:
