2008 SRT10

I dropped my QC off for serivice on Tuesday and when I went to pick it up on Wednesday the sales manager pulled me aside and talked to me a little about the next model year of the Viper and Ram SRT10.

He stated that the 08 models are going to have a "new" engine that runs at 650HP which of course got my attention. He knows I am a sl*t for HP. Has anyone else heard this?

Of course the real boss would have serious issues with me getting a new ride just for HP, but I was just thinking about it. I am very happy with my current girl, but the grass is always greener with a new truck

The next gen viper will have 650 hp and I think it was 560 ft lbs trq.

Sadly it will lose when the vette ss pops out with its 650hp supercharged engine and a weight lighter then a z06. Though id still take the viper of a vette.

650 hp should get it into low 11's high 10's with drag radials.

What a coincidence! I went to the dealer for a NYS Inspection, as well as a look at my oil lines (since I saw the cronic leaks many of you were experiencing). While waiting, one of the salesmen and I struck up a conversation. He told me there was talk of a new SRT 10, based on the introduction of the new Viper engine. Also, the Challenger was pushed back, possibly to '09. I did not go to the New York car show, but this fellow told me the Challenger was NOT there. All grist for the mill in light of the recent talks to sell Chrysler. Just a couple of tidbits . Oh, and yes, I have to return to have the new oil lines installed when the parts arrive at the dealership.
