2024 Chevelle 70/SS

I'm trying to figure out what transmission was in my valiant. 1968 three on the tree (manual)

I'm thinking it was an A230
No idea what manual transmission where on the dodges , always preferred the autos .. but did own a 340 that had the 3 on the tree manual .. I blew the the motor on that one in the snow .. . Then put in a new motor or alongs with the 727 torque flite with a hurst floor slapstick shifter .

Like the Doge did with the Demon ,, Dusters looks more like some 1970’s Toyota hahaha

I cannot stand the look of the charger series! There is no charger I've ever seen that looks remotely like what Dodge calls a charger????

I think the challenger is okay but nothing will replace the beautiful originals

Agree , the challenger is the closest match of them all

Yeap , just look at the 1968 fast back chargers hahaha , they changed the design back then and removed the fastback ,, But still resembled each other ..

That's because they were never going for retro styling with the new Chargers. They did however take styling cues from the old ones. 06-10 took cues from the 68; circle taillights, the recessed rear window, most of the curves of the fenders, the ducktail on the back end. Even the shifter gate resembles the one in my old 72 (and that design goes back to 68). 11-14 they took cues from the 69-70's. Bar taillights, clamshells on the doors and hood depressions. Even the stock spoilers were made to resemble the old Go-wings.
Now the Challenger? They openly admitted that they rolled a 1970 into the design studio when they were designing the 2008. For 2015+ they moved up to more of the 1971 styling cues.

Thank you! I never paid attention to those details! I guess it was the body style that got me off track. But, now that i know this, it makes perfect sense

Once they hit 2015 though they kinda went off the rails. The ass end, spoilers (initially, the hellcat spoiler is very different) and door scallop are there but that front end though.....guess that was the price for factory supercharged hemis.

You’re not the only one .. lost track of things a few years back . But I did see things on them that did relate to the older models
