Hey guys,

I bought a Edelbrock RPM Intake manifold for the 'Vette. I got it today and took it out of the box to find that it doesn't have a spot for the oil-filler tube! :dontknow: (I read the discription again, and it says it has a "provision for oil-fill tube" :hmmmm: ) I looks like I need to have someone mill out a theaded hole for the tube. :dontknow: Is this a normal thing that a machine shop can do?

Yes Jake any good machine shop can mill out the hole and then thread it,check with the local hot rod shop for a good machine shop.:rock: :rock:

if the tube is threaded... :dontknow: you can easely drill that one yourself and with a hand thread cutter must be possible ... no ?
it's only trough aluminium...make sure to clean all debris from working on it !

There is Macedo Motorsports over here. Not sure if this is something he can do, but I bet he would know someone that could!

no problem... we use , don't know how you call it... , "clock-saws" , can be used in a simple handdrill... ( drill smaller diameter as to be threaded !! ) and for thread cutter... ?? perhaps have to buy one or hire.. ?? no big deal but you need one....i have them...

The tube is a press fit. Make sure that the new manifold has a provision (Cast in boss) for the filler tube. You could use a hole saw (slightly undrsize) and then finish it out with a flapper wheel. Use silicone and beat it in with a wooden block. It should be a very tight fit.

I have just refinished the stock manifold.... I will check on having a machine shop mill the hole for the neck at a later date.

Why are you putting a aftermarket intake on your stock vett? Its not going to gain you anything. Its only going to take away from the nice stock look.

My Corvette isn't stock.... it just looks that way.

not sure but I dont think the tube is threaded, I think it pulls out .

Jake 2 things.
1st do you have the big block hood on your car? If not you'll never find a air cleaner that will fit with that manifold.
2nd get that vaccume hose for your brake booster off of your throttle linkage
