4:10 or 4:56 Gears On FI Motor ?

Bought a set of 4:56 gears for my 04 Rc. The truck is really a street rod and I doubt that I'm going to be spending much time at the track. Set to put the new gears in next Tuesday but I'm having second thoughts. Would like your input. Current dyno run at 640 RWHP.

I haven't got as much HP as stinker, but I love my 4.56:1's

I have mixed feelings...I had 4:10's and have gone to 4:56...the 4:56 is better for me on the street. But the 4:10's seemed to be better on the strip...let me qualify that...I think the 4:56 will be much quicker in the quarter, but learning to control the truck is really difficult. I am still struggling with traction issues for the strip...

You will note that I have about the same hp as you.

Bottom line: this is a street truck and the 4:56 is more manageable and easier to drive with the "shorter" 4:56 ratio. If it were going to be raced more I think I would go back to the 4:10...

Graduated from Toms River in 1961 (GULP!), and there was only one Toms River HS at that time!
