you will lose around 2 mpg
I don't think so. Not over here. Look , what i see is that 90 % of time i drive around here at a speed just not enough for gear 6. Engine is than at less or approx 1500 rev's which i hear not to be that good and surtenly no reserve for climbs or passing etc. So i drive in 5 with approx 2200 revs.
With the 4.88 i can use 6 and reving about 1850 revs at my "cruise speed ." which is alot better for the engine than the 1500 revs and almost at a point where there is already some torque for smal driving changes as mentioned , i hope.....
Do i got it right here ? or missing something ?:dontknow:
so i tought my mpg wil improve , no ?
Then there is our f*cking problem with traffic jam ,

, and now i find the 1 gear with the 4.1 rather "big" for starting and stopping and starting and stopping and... every time you have to play a bit with the cluch and gas ...i think ( and hope ) that with the 4.88 this wil go much easier ,( as Patrick told , the truck is much "lighter") , perhaps i can let rol the truck only by using cluch without gaspedal play.... no ? :dontknow:
OK , i wil definitly shift more but that can only be good to my health as i otherwise use that hand for holding my sigaret....
And yes , it wil be very torqui in 1 and 2 ... so carefull driving wil be needed but thats also with the 4.1. As experience out rallydriving ( years ago ) i founded a car that you can spin always in gear 1 learns you to deal with it and is far not that dangerous than one that "normal" doesn't do this but in a unattendet moment during acceleration spins and driver was not prepared....
The same with drifting : good as provoced and controlled from the begin , not always when it comes unexpected....
shoot your opinions !
