4 link installed with coil overs for about 2k-2.5k

So my question for you guys is there is a very reputable rock crawler builder that says if I want a 4 link installed with coil overs. I am looking about $2000-2500 installed. So do you guys think this is a good deal?

P.S. I have seen his work and it is very good.
 
Does the name FSTJACK come to mind...if he'll post he knows all about the 4-link, there's one in his Truck.

Mine is 4 linked, but I do not have milage on it yet. Mine was a custom job with some frame narrowing to allow for my giant wheel and tire combo. Give me a few more months after my recovery and the completion of the engine build, and I will give a better account of my build.
 
4 link setups for rock crawlers are entirely different than for a high hp street/drag vehicle. I've built an offroad 4 link before but wouldn't dream of tackling a setup for my truck. That said $2500 out the door would be a good price for a jeep. For offroad they are more interested in flex, not keeping the axle perfectly situated. Also they are more interested in designing the geometry of the system to avoid squat or anti-squat (lifting the rear) under acceleration. This is different than designing a system to effectively transfer weight to the rear and plant the tires.

Do a google search for pics of street car 4 links and compare that to what you've seen them do on offroad trucks.

Attached pictures are one that I built for my jeep. Notice how adjustable Jack's mounting points are. You need all of that adjustability. The only adjustments I can make on the jeep is the length of the control arms to give a little more or a little less squat.

I would suggest talking to a chassis builder near you who specializes in drag car builds, if only for a second opinion/price. As mentioned above, two totally different animals (ORV vs. drag).

I will actually. Just trying to find someone local. I have a lead on a guy in Pleasanton, Ca.

Jacks setup is very nice. I think a setup like that would be overkill in my application.
 
Something to note, doing this without taking out the factory gas tank is very difficult. You could do more of a 3 link setup with the wishbone to center the rearend and then ladder bars going forward with coilovers or airbags as suspension. Could be done with enough adjustability and maintain a better street ride than a true 4 link.

fuel cell im lettin my chassis builder take care of everything.....its what he has done for 25 yrs;)
