I think he has a museum. He had just bought an '07 Shelby GT VIN# 001 for $600K. He had bid $500K and then upped himself since the money was going to charity and he wanted to meet last years goal. For his money he got the car, a Fender guitar painted like the car autographed by Carroll Shelby and the option to buy VIN# 002 at sticker price. Someday I'd like to know what it's like to have that kind of money. How about Tuesday.......BlackViperRam04 said:I saw that too. Was it anybody famous? I couldn't tell. Obviously he is a little important if he can spend 5 mil on a car.
Can you get it to me by Tuesday? :dontknow:KRAZYSRT10 said:I have money....![]()

lbstone said:From my understanding, Carrol Shelby built the car personally for himself them blew it up while street racing in Nevada. The car was apparently left for dead on the side of the road when Jimmy Webb (canadian songwriter) offered him $10.5K for the car in 1970. The guy apparently fixed the motor then soon after developed big problem sith the IRS. Apperently Jimmy left for Canada to escape the grips of tje IRS but left the car well hidden. The IRS eventually found this amazing ride and auctioned it off at Barrett Jackson in 1995 for $375K. The story also goes that Shelby built a second twin SC Cobra for Bill Crosby with a three speed auto. Aparently Cosby returned the car for "some" reason (maybe 800 hp in a 2500 lb car might be too much for some people to handle). This second "SuperSnake" was then sold to a dealer who sold it to Toney Maxey who quicllky wrecked the car, taking his life. The car was totaled and subsiquently junked when a car collector came by and picked it upv from the junk yard. The collectoy elegidly shipped the car to AC Cars in England to get new coachwork and frame work. This time the car was built without the SC on the Big Block! The car is now in a private collection.
