The story also goes that Shelby built a second twin SC Cobra for Bill Crosby with a three speed auto. Apparently Cosby returned the car for "some" reason (maybe 800 hp in a 2500 lb car might be too much for some people to handle). This second "SuperSnake" was then sold to a dealer who sold it to Toney Maxey who quickly wrecked the car, taking his life.

This is the story they were telling yesterday during the auction. Carroll Shelby himself was standing on the podium during the sale. I think Greg Jackson had a woody.

The car was totaled and subsequently junked when a car collector came by and picked it up from the junk yard. The collector allegedly shipped the car to AC Cars in England to get new coachwork and frame work. This time the car was built without the SC on the Big Block! The car is now in a private collection.

Yes! Way cool. Less than 100 original miles. I watch this Auction like a religion. It's been on since Tues. My wife thinks I should be institutionalized. Great story on the Cobra!

The Orange HEMI CUDA that had the all aluminum 572 Hemi with all the carbon fiber sold for 535,000.00. It was at the Mopar Nats last year. I thought it would sell for more. But that 4 DOOR '66 HEMI Coronet brought 600,000.00. Seems like Mopars and Mustangs are bringing the big money this year.

He used to own Pratte development here in Las Vegas. He built a big chunk of the city and sold his company for MAJOR bank. I think he carries 5 mil in his wallet.

Yeah he also owns Pratte Builing supplies here in phoenix. My dad got to go to the warehouse where he stores all these cars a year or two ago, it is some where in the west chandler area.

But the dude is stupid loaded my buddy works at the wells fargo he comes to and said he makes ridiculous deposits.

Yep, he still is an equal partner in Pulte homes. So if you are living in a Pulte built home you helped pay for the car. His daughter and my daughter are good friends. I've never met the guy but we'll probably be going to Phx here shortly for a party and a look see at the collection. I'll try and get some pics and post 'em up for you guys.
