DOGS LOVE TRUCKS, MEDUSA, NY
i've been starting research on what to buy.
thinking about Kodiak 4500. not big on autos, but i think thats more for towing big items then a 3500 dodge. the srt-10 is out of the question, lol. will be doing 3-5k per year. and 3-5 months in the truck traveling. climbing the grapevine, both mountain ranges, and in 2011, Alaska. ford is out of the question.

whats the wieght/ thing you want to pull? my 2500 cummins will pull 15k all day long at 70, mountians or not (7 trips to AZ from san diego) i can hold 55-60 up the back grade 5% i think.

3500 dodge is my choice, chevy has a nicer interior tho if your goin far

45' overall trailer length 19,500 max 13'6"tall.
i am worried about cross winds with a small truck.
going to FL last year each time a truck passed it was like i was on ice. sucked bigtime, and my truck weighs 7500 empty.

do the Kodiak's still run the little Cats????

what ya lookin to haul????

arent the kodiaks kind of tall, was wondering about trailer angle, how about dodge 4500 or 5500

Look at the ford 650s you can get cummings or what ever motor you want in them, they r nice trucks even if they r a ford, im not into fords, but for a big truck thats what i would get..

the only real thing i hate about ford is the steering wheel is in no way attached to the front tires. that being said it is the loosest steering i have ever felt. also a 650 is way too big. thanks thou. need a 4500, and dodge has one now, but the new cummins is junk.

i was a rv driver, and with over 400k miles towing everything under the sun with a reg cab f250 powerstroke. you dont really need to worry about cross winds and such with a 5th wheel or gooseneck and a one ton dually, as long as your trailer has all the wieght properly distributed they are more then enoungh truck for what you want to do, and registraton will be cheaper too. do forget you need a non commerical class A lisence to tow that beast.

you have a point on the reg.
i have my cdl A.

what about trucks passing? do you get sucked into them with a heavy 5th wheel?
as you can see i had a travel trailer.

in NY you need a rv endorsement when its over 26,000GCVWR.

also the other use of this will be hauling over size load sheds. 12'x52'X14'
