Sounds like Va. They put me in jail for two days in 1973, Offence?- driving 6 mph over the speed limit! (61 in a 55)

I was still in the army at the time, and looking back think that is why they did it.

A lot of people have forgotten or just don't know that at that time many people and places in this country were very hostile towards soldiers.

They couldn't figure out that we were just young men trying to do the right thing for our country and had nothing to do with policy.

They took me in front of a man that they said was a judge. He said my fine would be if I remember $25.00.

One of the officers told him I only had about $22.00, so he said 'well just take what he's got and send him on his way'.

I ended up calling my father and he sent me some money.

I was driving a tractor when I was 5!!

Good for the kid IMHO...not that I am not scared for him but at least he holds himself accountable...he will get a job early and maybe one day be a President.

VA still hates soldiers man. My buddy got pulled over(no ticket) for 2mph over!!! During improcessing there, they warn you right off the bat... cops are gunning for you. I drove the speed limit the entire time I was there
