just wanted to thank you for taking the time to send my son a christmas card. he sends his thanks. he really looks forward to the letters from his family while he is in boot camp. i guess its his only link to the outside world. i got a letter from him last night saying he was supposed to get to call home for christmas and a few guys in his platoon didnt sound off and the DI took it away from them. i guess he's learning team play the hard way. he still was pissed that they all had to pay for a few slackers mistakes. anyway, thanks again bro, it meant a lot to him:rock:

:congrats: I thank Bob for having a name I can spell in whichever direction I chose. Beer poses a serious problem while spelling, ya know..

Eddie, sorry to hear your son is learning stuff the hard way, but it'll make him a better man for sure. Hopefully those few slackers get on their damn game so he won't have to miss out like that anymore. Tell him the guys here are all rooting for his completion and success.... Because, we are.

i will bro. he seems to have his act together, just a little homesick, especially at christmas. ill let him know you guys are puling for his sucess.

Mail call is a very important thing in your sons life right now lol. Write often... it'll put a smile on his face every time:D

time for them to give those slackers a late night blanket party ,,,rule of thumb ,,,you live as a team and can die as a team from one slacker:mad:

It's called the boat method. One person kicks a hole in the boat and everyone drowns.

No worries Eddie. Got a letter back from him, and I'll be writing him regularly. I know how much mail call means.

You know, that phone call thing was probably never gonna happen in the first place heheh. But it's a good lesson for them just the same.

Not sure how much Marine Basic differs from Army, other than being 3 weeks longer, but usually holiday's are the one time you could expect to make a phonecall in the Army.

Not sure how far along basic he is now, but once they make it past the first couple of days all they gotta do is keep their heads up.

he's in his 4th week right now. i think he's almost done with the 1st phase. he mentioned pugil sticks and water training should be coming up.

Cool, right on track with my training days, as he hits 2nd and 3rd phase he may be allowed to use the phone a little more often, once again not sure how much different they treat the training between Army and Marines. He should also start

He should also start having more fun in the training, weapons training coming up, spending a little less time in the classroom everyday. Yeah Basic sucks while your there, but when you look back at it, its some of the most fun you have in the Military.

Hey Eddie sending mine off today, I let him in n a few things:D The first 6 wks everyone is still in a fog by 8wks they will all but 10% be on the same page on way or another, team work is the key they are trying to find the leaders in the platoon right now;) Dont worry big daddy you'll be so proud your gonna cry before your wife does:marchmellow: :marchmellow:
