A/C compressor spacer question

I need to space out my a/c compressor from 1/4"-1/2" don't know the exact amount yet. The belt I have seems around that much to long and there isn't one any smaller.

I was thinking of getting some 1/4" aluminum flat bar and drill the holes in the middle. Also thought of some tubing.

I will have to look through all the pages of blackviper engine build because i know he did some kind of spacer. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

hrm..

I dont see why some .5" bar stock wouldnt work as a spacer, just so long as its bolted down nice and tight so that it dosent vibrate and abrade against the bolt threads or anything like that
