A/F ratio question

Got the new Tune from Sean :marchmellow: :marchmellow: :marchmellow:

Looks better to me!

WOT - LINK
75mph - LINK

He stated that it is pretty much dead on for an after cat reading.

ohh... BTW... SEAN ROCKS:rock:  :burnout: :burnout:

I'll just use this thread other than starting another:D

So my truck 6th gear WOT at 70mph A/F is 10.4 that's to rich correct?:dontknow:
Also if I mash it in any gear it kinda sputters and once it's above 3500rpms it pulls really hard to redline.

Just the opposite..fat (rich) as heck...

Not to be negative but are you a skilled 6 speed driver? First off you are putting a tremendous load on the crank and all reciprocating parts by going wide open throttle in such a low RPM in the WRONG gear in your example anyways. "going WOT at 70MPH in 6th"? Shoulda BEEN in like 3rd or maybe even 4th. By doing what you are the ECM could see a knock or detonation from lugging the motor at too low and RPM and mashing it. It could be that the ECM is fattening it up there to prevent detonation? MAke sure you are in the correct gear for the pull. I could have you all wrong:dontknow:

At 70 it's at 1800rpms didn't really think that was lugging. Anyways I can try it. In a different gear and see what happens. So 3rd gear would be better?

Yes that is lugging it! A WOT in 6th should be at maybe 100-120 to prevent lugging, depnding on gearing. But yes if you were to race someone (for example) and yall were going 70 and you are in 6th gear, you'd better drop to third or get yo ass handed to ya. You also want to rev match the engine rpms to the gear selection. IN other words if you are in 6th at 70 at 1800 rpm and are going into 3rd for a WOT mash, you would bring the rpms up by flashing the pedal up to around 3-4000 rpm and then when the 3rd gear is selected you wont be putting the drag on the engine/tranny/and diffy!

I know how to do all that! I'm just thinking she's a little rich.

What are your mods?

Ported/coated factory manifolds
full 3'' exhaust (no cats) 2 magnaflows
MSD wires (if it matters)
JMB CAI catch can
Vec III

kyle you just need to get with a reputable tuner, or have it dyno tuned,
internet forum tuning will end you up in the same place you were a couple years ago

Well, honestly tony I don't want to waste my money tuning because within the next few months its getting heads/cam more than likely:dontknow: I'd like to do the roe again with a good tune BUT just makes my butthole pucker:(

I really don't need to spend the money it cost to do a full build. I personally like a NA truck. Thinking about something similar to Tim's truck he did a few years back. 550ish rwhp and close to 600tq would make me very happy;)

I would jsut hang loose and leave it be for now then, or you may end up with troubles, or get a dyno graph by running it on the dyno, and email it to sean and let him send you a new program, shouldnt be too expensive that way
