I've had this thing in the shop for about 10 days out of the month i've owned it, for various reasons that are not just mechanical. When its warmed up and i unload the diff gear, back off the throttle, and then tap the gas and reload the hypoid i get a loud klank. The service writer told me it was ok and i took it as the gears being large. Is this a common occurrence or do i need a new rear end. Also the brake squel like mad, on my SRT8 they replaced the rotors with slotted versions is there such a recall on these.

Some EBC brake pads will clear up the squeeling. I know BOOMER, x-metal, on here sells them. There are others I just don't remember off the top of my head.

My opinion of that clank is that there is something going on in the rear. Maybe the gears aren't set up properly and have too much backlash.

Our drive-lines are setup fairly loose. There is some play in them. As far as brakes go. Switch to ceramics. Either contact some of the vendors here or your local parts store can get them for you. I got mine (not EBC) via Advance Auto and am very happy with them. I still get a little squeal out of mine every once in a while so I can't say they're completely quiet but it is much better. They are much cleaner too. No black dust.

thanks y'all I'll replace the brakes after a few paychecks to refill the coffers and i won't worry my pretty lil head about the diff.

Again i appreciate the advice.1

Dennis- Did you get those from Advance or Autozone? What was the name brand? Raybestos? (Porterfield makes a BUNCH of different company's pads). :dontknow:

I used the Porterfield R4-S pads, and bought them directly from Porterfield ! I love 'em !!!  The Service Mngr at Sunshine Dodge turned me on to this place,I'm very satisfied !!!Will use them again when it's time !!

Bigike, its a longshot, but somebody a couple of years ago complained about this clunking................turned out, his spare tire was not completly tight and was moving around causing the noise. You might want to check it out just to be sure its not something so simple.

And yes the brakes squeel like hell. Change out the pads.
