A few runs from Mopars at the Rock

Nothing wrong with 4.10's.....its a bit strange that your truck was loose on the topend with the drag radials too they are normally pretty solid

Yeh it was creapy to not feel connected to the track. Although could the lack of a front sway bar have anything to do with that?

It shouldn't in a straight line, might be a good idea to play with them a little on the street to see at what psi they start to feel loose. I've gone as low as 11psi with my slicks and the truck is great on the top end.

Thanks for the info. I might have just been paranoid tho. I'm re-matchin the guy in the dakota next month so Maybe I can speed up my times that day. We are 1-1 at the moment. He runs consistent 12.90s on a good track from what I hear from my bud. I do know once I got off the line it was a catch up and pass game near the top end.

I noticed your burnout is way too short. You need a Hurst Lineloc to do a proper burnout and not ruin your spider gears. I used to use 16.5 lbs in the M&H drag radial, do a 5 second burnout in 2nd gear. I was then able to launch at between 3500 and 3800 rpm and have a 1.70's 60' time (1.72-1.78 average) depending on track prep. I tried 15 lbs a couple of times, but John from M&H said the sidewalls were buckling (not wrinkleing) so he recommended no lower than 16.5. Check your tire pressure after each run and a slight cooldown, as they will build some pressure from the heat of the burnout and the run. Also have someone pull you a little more forward after you get them wet, it looked like you were still in the water and not enough burnout to really dry them off, which could have been your problem on the runs with the major spinning issue. Hope this helps. I guarantee, a Lineloc, 5 second 2nd gear burnout and you will leave the Dakota in the dust. Remember a .1 in 60' is worth .2 in ET. You cut .2 from your 1.95 60' and your 12.90 will become a 12.50.

thanks guys. the reason for the short burnout is to save my gears till I get linelock. what's something like that run and how hard to install. I do all my own wrenching so I am assuming I could install.

Great runs, Jason!

I have k&n CAI(so nothing to some), magnaflow cat backs(again nothing but noise), SCT Roe can tune, and the DRs. No weight reduction yet and probably won't much. Still have the 4.10s.....but hopefully not much longer.

What gears are you going with?

No....you need the Volant:D

So what you're saying is, if you had it to do all over again you would get 4.88s and a Volant, rather than mess around with this Gen IV head nonsense you're doing now?? :D

Exactly!:D.........and some of those 37" tall slicks SRTVenomous found! With those you don't need to run for a whole mile....you can do 200 in the 1/4 mile!
