Driving down the highway and saw I missed my exit so did a U-turn, had to back up a little as our trucks do not have a tight turn radius. Traffic coming so gunned it and the thing started coughing real bad. Cleaned up in maybe 50 yards and never happened again. Fuel tank was below 1/4 so all I can figure it the gas sloshed to one side of the tank and starved the engine. Is this plausible? :dontknow:

Quite possible your gauge is off a little and you had less gas than 1/4 being the tank was removed. Often the sender gets damaged or thrown off calibration.
 
Haha, I have approximately 1 gal left when low light comes on, between 1/8-1/4 too. Looking for fuel between halftank & qtr. Never trust the gauge, walked too many times to do that again...
