I ran across a copper head snake last nite! The only thing I had with me was a 44 mag. It did the trick though, dang near blew the thing in two! It measured just over 33''. Any on need snake skin boots?:D

Put it in clear plastic or resin or whatever they use to form a ball for the shifter knob. That would be cool. My sister does scorpions in resin so she could do it but she is in Phoenix. Also, I think you'll need something tougher than resin for it to hold up to the constant use and abuse. You probably need to use lexan or some other tough material. Search the internet or check with a taxidermist. You'll find someone who can do it.

Get with Ironhead. He does plastic injections and stuff like that. He may know someone that knows someone.

Heck, you may have just come across a new business. :) :)

With all the Rattle Snake Roundups there should be an unlimited supply.... ;)

polycarbon or clear isoplast is what you want ,,the isoplast is tough as it gets ,,if you are going to put it in a clear item you will have to have a taxidermy work it first or the presure the plastic will put on it will make it look like a dried up rasin with fangs:D

you can do a liquid polycarbon but you will need to build a small mold to hold it in till it dries and sets up,,,if you want it done or try to do it get a grassnake and try it save the other till your setup works,,,you mix two liquid resins then stir the together then you have like a 3 min window to get it in place ,,,,,,if you like i will look in to for ya

"thats funny right there,i dont care who you are"

This might be a good business idea! Seriously. Only thing I see as a problem is the natural instinct to avoid reaching right at a rattle snakes head. I would get the chills every time I grabbed the shifter. I hate rattle snakes more than anything else I have ever encountered. I get the chills every time I come across one. Maybe it's because my grandfather constantly warned me to look where I am walking in case there were rattlers around. I grew up in the desert.

The 44 was all I had with me:D But here he is.

I have seen many copperheads living in central WV but that is the biggest I have ever seen. I think a local record here would be around 26 inches.

Looks like a good shot to me :D
