A little help, please.

i believe you are to warm up the cladding with a heat gun , then use a tool to pry the push pins out, forceably remove the cladding and discard!! install new one with 300' of new 2 way tape :(

It really should be removed to paint as the paint will not have a smooth transition to the end of a panel and will start to pull away where the body was masked of to paint the cladding. Any part is properly painted by being removed from truck. That and you don't want one chance of overspray on your truck:D

I believe that I will get it painted while it is on the truck. I didn't mean to start anything. Just asking advice, but I do really appreciate everyone chipping in. That's what I like about this community. Ask a question and you will get answers. Thanks again everyone!
i know midnight and i was just busting his raisins:D

scott, think about it...
the gaps are so loose on the panels that you could easily slide tape between the door and even on the sides...
because of the aggravation of the body mounts, why would you go through the hassle?

what i'm saying is if it's properly masked and sprayed, i see no reason to go through with removing the panel...

A good paint/body guy could mask it off correctly and paint it on the truck. I have some chips on one of mine. I wouldnt take it off in fear of it not being the same when you clipped it all back.

the peice on my drivers side door is loose any easy way to tighten back up??

What I'm saying as a Professional Paint and Body guy is that in time the paint will start to peel from the under the cladding because the paint can't wrap aroound the part. This may take years or months:eek:

I am a good painter and would hate that my paint started coming from the edges because it couldn't be wrapped around the cladding.:dontknow:

are you talking about the inside edges and/or the parts where the 3m tape is stuck to?

if you take off your cladding, the oem doesn't paint the inside... on any of the parts... at least not on mine??
