Hey guys,

is there any better than stock rear limited slip differential available for RAM SRT-10?

Thanks.

Why? What problems are you having? These are pretty damn good as they are! Big traction at high rpm clutch dumps are a tax on any diff. If anything, the spider gears shear and ya just change those out and away you go again! :) My only complaint with these diffs is the distance from the spring perch to the axle flange. Bottoming out on bumps tends to bend the axles. Tony was looking into better quality axles but hit a dead end! getting harder axles could tend to break off which would toss the entire wheel/brake assembly!

When I try to drift or make some donuts it spins the inner wheel like an open diff... When do a burnout - spins both simultaneously.

So just get an overhaul kit?

The stock differential is only a limited slip. Therefore one tire is able to turn faster than the other. The outside wheel should still help push in a turn or when only one tire is on a slippery surface. If you want both to spin all the time you need a locker or spool. Unfortunately no one makes any that fit our Dana 60 because of the semi floating axels.

If your rear is not making any strange noises try changing the fluid with friction modifier. You may have to do it a few times to get all the worn clutch material out.

that diff has seen some action! the spider gears have to feel some stress(Power and traction) for them to push hard enough to activate the clutches. So if you are on gravel on one side and pavement on the other it may only spin the gravel tire. if both tires have equal traction and you apply enough power both tires should spin. quite easily i might add!

As of right now, no. Unless you are willing to change out the whole stock rear with a regular Dana60 that doesn't use C-clips to hold the axles in. You will also need to replace the stock rear disc brakes with an aftermarket set up. Last time I seen this package for sale new it was $4,000

Dr Diff.com his name is Cass hes a Mopar rearend specialist, the dana 60 is a popular rear diffs, spools, and gears are plentiful

Is the srt10 Dana the same us old guys are used to having in some 60s cars?
Im not sure on that but i would call Cass @ Dr.Diff he knows these danas, he helped me set my dana60 with the right parts that i was lost about,

No they are not the same, the 10's use a C-clip. Don't even bother trying to find pieces for our rears. Your better off to replace with a complete Strange S60. Call JMB Performance and talk to Justin. He sold me a complete Strange S60, 35 spline axle, spool (not recommended for the average folk), Wilwood brakes, etc for around $3500ish.

I'm trolling you  Wouldn't it be even more expensive to go with an LSD over the spool though?

A locker is more than a spool by probably $3-500ish.

Back when I bought my axle this was my beef with DTS axles, there price difference between a complete axle with a spool vs a locker didnt make sense. They would not alter the price of the axle less the locker the proper amount to justify the cheaper spool. So I went to Justin and bought one from him.
