AIR RIDE OR DROP KIT.....WHATS THE WAY TO GO

lets try this again. the rear is a belltech flip kit no real brainer. but i was told the front spring rate was higher than stock. when i first put it on the truck drove great minus the front end hitting the fender liners all the time. they got destroyed in a few months. i put thicker bump stops and new fender liners but it still hits but not as bad. when I was doing my 6 speed swap some guy with a regular ram came in the shop wanting to put a mcguaghys kit on. I helped him out and his truck handled alot better than mine. i figured it was because of the extra weight of the v10. my sons barber bought a 10 after seeing mine. we lowered his with the mcguaghys kit as well. his truck handled better than mine too and for half the price. i just feel the front bouncing a little more than those trucks with the mcguaghys kit. so I bought qa1 shocks thinking my shocks were done. still the same shit. I feel the spring rate is off. I am not the only one that feel this way. I am not trying to bash his shit but why the high price tag when a cheaper kit can out perform my srt 10 specific kit?
I just wish I would have done a little more research before I bought it. thats all . have a good night .

Did there trucks sit as low as yours in the front?

SRT2SLOW's stance is awesome. I would do what ever it takes to make mine sit right with fenders just above tires. I am making my own fender liners out of wheel tubs from summit. It will give you 2-3 more inches of travel before hitting something. Just my 2 cents which is worth very little lol

How do you plan to get 2-3 inches? The fender liner is screwed to the battery box...so you can go any higher unless you move both battery boxes, and to do so you have to find a way to mount the abs pump and fuse box. Would love to see what you have in mind because my abs pump is held on with a zip tie right now cause I hit a speed bump a little too fast and it came down and busted the battery box

Bmx has done some good engineering on his beast! It'll also be a fast contender in the near future. :D

Yes sir you are correct battery going in rear along with my meth tank and pump. I am making custom mounts for fuse box which is turning long ways and mounts for abs pump. As soon as I have them made I will make a extra set and send them to you.

Awesome man just let me know what I owe you, thankfully I already had the battery in the rear. Also if you're using the JMB battery tray you will want to made a battery hold down that goes over the top of the battery, the factory plastic hold down isn't strong enough. Check out 20 secs into this vid under the truck

And upgrade to 2/0 wire! It'll prevent that slow cranking.
Great gesture BMXAM:burnout:

You won't owe anything but shipping and maybe not even that. I am glad to help out a truck that is so fast and gets worked on at home by its owner.:D Just hope mine will be that fast this year.:dontknow:

You'll not make an airbag 10 handle well at all! It will ride like a Lincoln/Cadillac and handle as such. Great ride and handling don't go hand in hand. Good handling vehicles ride like go carts, smooth riding airbagged rides don't handle! They can still tow well though even at the dropped height..
My opinion would be a static suspension drop with bridging frame to allow axle to go into frame area!
Don't forget a body drop can go on top of a suspension drop for an even more down to earth appearance.

I will argue this one Scott, I had a full ride tech air ride system I'm my Dakota R/T about 6 or 7 yrs ago and it rode very well and it handled like it was on rails. Here in Edmonton we have a nice stretch of road called Groat Road it's on a hill and very curvey and I could go around anything going up and down groat, so what I'm saying is the system I had is probably obsolete compared to the technology they have out now and all the automatic setting they have out now I'm sure will handle and ride like no other!

I will say I'm outdated on airbags but I was building trucks during that evolution and handling on bags alone was terrible! Smooth ride but leaned like a caddy around corners! Maybe a cool over system integrated wouldve helped but it was all about magnesium frame skids and laying that on the ground back then. Handling wasnt priority! Good to hear technology has caught up.
You say that Dakota handles like your SRT? Thanks for your input as well as Dans. Kinda like car stereo systems, I was deep in the game and was there again at the start of installing woofers into cars. Starting with 8ohm home stereo Kenwoods in custom boxes, including the crossovers and midrange/ highs from the sane tower speakers. Lmfao
Now I'm happy with my stock 10 and 50 watts powering it. :dontknow::D

C'mon Joe,
I've seen you drive, you just went around them because you're fearless wildman.:burnout:
