I bought a airaid filter about 2 wks ago, on the way to pick it up i was getting 13.5 mpg at 65 on the highway. I put it in and on the way home only got 10.5. Now I've noticed that the mileage is junk so on the way to the airport i put the stocker in, avg 12.6 at 70. on the way home i put the airaid in and only 11.1, and it feels less rev happy. I also think the exhaust, is hurting me. doesnt 2nd gear scratch as much.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the mileage on the computer, they are usually off. Do a tank full of gas and try to drive relatively the same with the stocker and with the airaid, then see what you come up with.

i got a drop in airraid as well.. however i could care less what the gas milage
was!

Mileage doesnt matter to me but lower mileage would mean a less efficient engine. less power. I'm going to clean it and reinstall it and to a seatofthepantsdynometer test and tank of gas. It is much better quality than the K&N;s i've used.

Disconnect the battery cable and let the computor reset itself, then do your test. I know that with all my mods, I am lucky to hit 10 mpg..............but the power my truck is putting out ( NA ) is awesome and it really doesnt bother me when its reading 7.8 on the computor!!!

The mpg is calculated off the amount of air coming in the motor and not the actul amount of fuel being used... I think?

Could be over oiled from the factory, K&N's have had that problem as well.

Wash it and reoil it as per the instructions and check your mileage again.

As was mentioned, dont rely on the mileage posted on the column, used the odometer and fuel added.
