Has anyone encountered an airbag light problem? The dealer cannot figure it out and said "The instrument cluster is fried and we will have to replace." Replacement came and then there was a problem with programming the new cluster properly, "A software problem with the manufacturer". After a week I get the truck back beacause problem cannot be solved. Fast Forward 3 weeks... Take truck in for 06 wheel bearing recall and the dealer say "Software problem fixed, will replace cluster at same time as recall".

A week has gone by and they still cannot figure out, they now want to start digging around and check the after market products added, Alarm (dealer installed) & Stereo (professionally installed).

Does this sound right? They have had my truck 3 weeks out of 3 months I have owned it. The truck runs fine other than the airbag light being on.
:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

I have a factory installed alarm in my 06 QC but no air bag light turning on...sorry.

Thanks!

there should not be any reprogramming of the instrument cluster that I am aware of, its pretty much plug and play...I would seek a second opinion. I hope things work out for you. Just thought of something, perhaps one of the airbags has something wrong with it causing the light to appear....

Thanks guys... My next move is to go see Dragon @ Avondale. It's way on the other side of town but maybe his techs are better at SRT10 issues.

BTW, looks like mutt is in the same boat with an AirBag light coming on after unplugging and reconnect.

Here are the complete diagrams from the manual.

Hope this helps

check all fuses, as I found out that fuses are not covered under warranty. so basically, if the dealer spends X amount of time looking for the problem and it turns out to be a fuse, all those hours get billed to you. (or me in my case)

good luck!

mmmmawesome, thanks... Mike any idea where the airbag fuse is located or the encrypted label it may be under on the fuse block?

my side impacts were unplugged. i removed the triggers from the original seatbelts, plugged them in and all is well

This is off topic from the original post but did you cause your blown fuse?

Don't really know...hit a tree really hard, I forget if it was on before?:dontknow:
Just kidding, I really think there is a problem with the alarm that was installed by the dealer.

Does anyone have access to run the VIN for dealer service info? I have run the CARFAX & others but nothing comes up.

I did have another dealer run the VIN and he told me it had a problem for something similar before I purchased the truck.

Kind of lost in weeds right now... trying to figure out why a simple light is so difficult to figure out. I feel like Elaine on Seinfeld when the doctors were making notes in her chart but would let her see.

No, I brought it in for overheating problems, and they said the radiator fan was bad. after replacing it, the problem was not fixed. It was then they found a blown fuse for the radiator fan. I was billed about $600 for that one.

:-(

Now that's a load of $hit! You should not have had to pay for that if you did not cause the blown fuse. The tech was an idiot for not checking the fuse in the first place, he just guessed at the problem and threw parts at it.
