I make six 5 mile trips a day. In this military uniform in florida heat and humidity i sweat like a pig the whole ride. I went to have my ac serviced last month. 85 bucks later, it cools no better. I put the infared thermometer in the vent it says 45 but this thing is not cooling like that. I drive 16 different work trucks every day, and my srt10 has the hottest ac i drive in.

The tech told me i dont have enough airflow through my condenser. Advised i put an auxillary radiator fan, or maybe my fan wasnt working up to par. we put a shop fan in front of it and the pressure did drop quite a few psi.

My vents dont blow hard, so i dont know if my cabin airfilter is clogged or my blower motor is tired. The previous owner was a smoker, (my passengers cant tell tho, had it ion/ozonated). but maybe the filter is tar'd up?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't believe there is a cabin filter. Are you running on recirc? If not, that would be the problem!! My ac kicks ass!! Are you still under warranty??

Many of us had AC problems. Dealer claimed it was low and while it worked better after the dealer serviced under warranty the passenger side would still blow warm at times. Went to local AC Pro and they confirmed the Dodge AC system is not up to par but knew what to do to get it working correctly...i.e. overfilled with freon. In full throttle and if water temps get too high the ECU turns off the AC compressor....so FYI. In our 110F plus heat if Ikeep it off number 4 setting on the fan (3 or lower) and Recir only it keeps the cab nice and cool.

Mine sucks too. Took it to the dealer and they said it is within spec so no fix was made. Of course they also said the steering wheel flaking and peeling is normal wear and not covered under warranty. I guess Dodge expects their vehicles to fall apart under normal conditions so they don't have to warranty them.

The weird part about the AC is that when I put it on recirc it is even worse than it was. It makes a hell of a lot of wind noise but just doesn't cool the cabin for crap. I really hate this truck. If I wanted to be beat to death by the crappy ride and sweat my butt off due to the crappy AC I would have bought an old pickup with no AC. Oh but I do love the cheap plastic dash that goes for miles, the great gas mileage and the lack of speed the 500+ HP motor puts out.

Sorry, I'm just tired of this truck. Someone buy it...please. As I said, my AC sucks. It's fine when the temps are below 90 but that is not very common here in Phoenix.

i had my shop pull a vacuum on it and the freon was low. make sure whoever services it has there equipment calibrated. we run into that a lot

Yeah i watched the guy pull the vacuum. It held, and i watched him fill it back up. It wasnt low before he started and cooled no better when he finished yet i still had to pay:dontknow:!
There IS a ton of room between the condenser and the radiator, has anyone put a fan between there?
And about the warranty, i bought the truck for 17,100 out the door from a 5 star dealer. My broke ass didnt fork over the additional 3800 they wanted for the bumper to bumper, as i am nearing 80k i dont think my factory power-train is in effect either.

probably not, might get the expansion valve checked and the dryer

There is plenty of room to put in an AC fan. I have one on mine but its on the outside of the condensor (ie it blows air from the front of the truck to the ac radiator)

make sure it doesnt have too much oil in the system too. that will make it not cool.

i live in houston and yesterday it was so hot the top of my head was smokin,,

a/c kicks ass in mine,,,i did have a problem with the 06 hemi i gave my son had a problem like yours and i found beleive it or not that his stinkie girlfreind went to wally world and left a plastic bag on passenger side floor board and it got sucked all the way up into the inlet of the blower and never made a single noise ,,,we just noticed the the air flow was not what it should be ,but air temp coming out was 46 to 48 ,,well after 3 trips to stealership and no resolve i finally decide to take the blower motor off and there it was

Just take it to a goodAuto AC shop and have them diagnos it!! Probly something simple!!

Mine likes to click on and off at highway speeds and after driving about 5 minutes. I checked the freon level and it was normal. Any ideas?

I know that the AC clutch engages and disengages continously, from what I understand to prevent icing over. I know cycling is normal but not sure of the time intervals

OK guys I just went through the same thing. First my compressor was bad and had leaked out over a lb. of freon, SECOND and this was the biggest problem, the vent door in the dash broke off. this is the one that recirculates the indoor air. They have a retrofit repair kit avaliable. It seems it is a very common problem. I will try to get some pics up of what it looks like. The symptoms are I only felt air comming out of ONE vent. The others had no air-flow. $400 later I have nice COLD air comming out of all vents. Made a world of diffrence here in Lake Havasu where we hold the record for the Hottest populated area in the US. (131 is record)...

About every minute. Plus the passenger side is no where near as cool as the drivers.
