Alabama: non title state before 197x?

Hi Guys

is it true Alabama is a "non-title" state before 1976 or so on?

as some of you already know, I buoght a project 1968 Coronet. Seller told me about non-title state... is it true? he's going to give me a notorized bill of sales only... I don't need title, just wanna make sure it's ok with US customs...

Alabama natives do have to have a passport just to go out of state. lol

Didnt I read somewhere AL started accepting hand written titles as long as they are printed?...:dontknow:

does anybody know what is this receipt? My shipper says they need it. I think it's a tax receipt for registration... but since my car has'nt been registered since 1990.. it's hard to find it!

that is a tag reciept, shows where you have paid the advelorem and sales tax on the vehicle, serves as registration too.

well, looks like US customs won't release my car without a title.

I think that guy is pretty dumb (maybe I'm wrong)
This is the title application form, but it's clear is only for cars after 1975

Are you trying to ship this car out of the country? If so from what port? You may need to tell customs to contact Alabama DMV.
