After countless searches It seems like i finally found reputable company whom i trust with a good product.

I think I found a solution that is affordable for those who want to run a true light weight drag skinnie rim and tire on the front.

By bolting on this 2" or 2.5" wide adapter this will give you the neccesary offset to clear the front brakes on the truck so you can bolt on 15x5 rim and run a true light weight front runner tire.

I'm thinking of going with the moroso DS2 in the 7.50 28" tall tire. With the apadter spacer this shouls weigh in at around 30lbs per wheel with adapter i'm guessing.

Heres a link with real made in the usa stuff.

i should have mine shortly and will post up pics as soon as i do. maybe even get a group buy. right now its 160$ plus tax and 25$ shipping.

Great find bro:rock: if they work out for you I'd be in for a set.

Found these.

Ebay Item # 370275223028

They are 2" not 2.5". Somebody may want to call em and see if they make the 2.5"ers

These are pretty cheap considering.

Maybe somebody wants to call n look into a group buy with them?

30Lbs each? so you'd save about 95lbs, 78lbs each for stock wheels would be 156lbs, minus the 60 for the skinnies. let us know how they work i'd be down for a set:burnout:

heres a video of how they make em:rock:

also heres a description

Wheel adapters change the bolt pattern of your hub and move the wheels out, allowing you to use any wheels for virtually any car, such as 10 lug semi wheels to 5 lug Jeeps, or 24 inch SUV wheels to 4 lug golf carts! We also build adapters for motorcycles and ATVs, including Yamaha Rhinos and Trikes. Whether it is your Custom 49 Ford or your new Ferrari, Motorsport can help you adapt!
Simply put, we build the best wheel adapters known to man. We are NOT a one man shop - we manufacture more adapters than anyone in the industry. We are NOT a reseller - every adapter is manufactured in-house. And we do NOT manufacture or sell any product that is not made to absolute perfection, with the highest quality materials in existence.
Our adapters are machined precisely with top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art, U.S. built, HAAS CNC machines, using only the best U.S. Alcoa 6061t6 billet aluminum. For these reasons, we provide a Lifetime Warranty, unlike our competitors.
i wonder if the ebay vendors offer this
they also do

Wheel Widening and Narrowing
We can widen wheels and narrow wheels to your desire. Please call us with what you are trying to accomplish so that we can better assist you

hey while you down there can you ask them if they are "hub-centric"(spelling??)

yeah they are, when you order you put in the exact measurement which i believe of the top of my head 77.8 or something like that

Just a FYI spacers may not be allowed on the track. I believe that it is stated in the NHRA rule book. I not sure how sticky the tech guy would be about them being on the front. I know on the rear is a definte no.

Does anyone know if skinny drag fronts will support the weight of our trucks?

they will. I've seen em on lightings and 5000lb station wagons so i think they are good for us.

If anything maybe they will wear faster

only one way to find out, i know my tech guy at the local track won't even notice or care, they don't really look at street cars very close. good to know they are hub-centric:rock:

somethin i just though of, the spacers will have to adapt our bolt pattern to the pattern on the skinny rims. i don't think they make a skinny rim in a 5x5.5 bolt pattern
edit: looks like they only make skinnies in a 5x4.5" and a 5x4.75" bolt pattern

they do but i'm going with the more popular chevy bolt pattern of 5x4.75.

you can get these rims all day long.. You also have more choices of rims to pick from like maybe a nice of bogarts or some summit pro-stat knock offs

i also have a chevy car so that way the truck and car can borrow skinnies

right, i was just making sure these were going to adapt to the smaller bolt pattern

the only thing i think we will have to do which is easy. is you have to modify your lug nuts to fit thru the spacer.

What this means is if you look closely at the lug nut it has metal casing that is real flimsy and adds an extra 1/2" or so to the length. I used a punch and chiseled the casing off. Another plus to this is now you can use a 21mm socket that goes on and off very easy.

yeah your talking about the chrome caps on the lug nuts? i may just buy some regular acorn style lug nuts there only like a buck each
can't belive it took 5 years for someone to come up with this idea and find a product to make it work....

Theres a thought right there, share the same wheels from the car. Thanks for the idea.
