06 QC, AC is not that cold unless I'm running down the freeway and at night my cruise control buttons do not light up? :dontknow: It’s not that big of a deal but I was just wondering if I was the only one

Mine is not that cold until I get going. Also the passenger side is not as cool as the drivers side. I don't think the cruise buttons light up, unless that was a change on the 06's.

The AC has been an issue for some time, some trucks don't cool so well some do. Mine is one that works great, 95-100 outside and I keep it on the second highest fan setting. Works great. be sure you have it set on re-circ though. if you are introducing outside air this time of the year it's gonna struggle!!;)

As fro the cruse buttons, mine have never lite up!! Never had a car that did!!:dontknow:

start the truck when it is hot outside, lower the windows and drive for about a min with the rec button on. give it a try. it will cool down faster.

Yep Marc and Voodoo are correct. Mine is the same. Once it gets cold, its chilly though.

No lights on c/ buttons too.

Mine sucks as well :( The passenger side is never as cold as the drivers side and struggles to keep the truck cool on those hot days. I have had the dealer bleed the system and recharge it. They say everything is within specs but its still the worst A/C system I have had on any vehicle to date.

Mine is the same, but it will get cool eventually. IMO, the A/C units on these trucks are a little on the weak side.

I'm out here on the edge of the desert and it gets hot here, we have seen 118 this year. It does take a little while to get it cooling, but once it is going I usually have to turn down the blower or freeze my ass off. The backseats are another thing altogether though, I don't know why they didn't put in vents in the back like the denali has.

Just turn on the re-cerk buttom when you start out, then turn it off when you get cold.

Bill.

I agree with BEGOOD. hit the recirc button. On the trip accross Ned in 107 degree heat I could freeze my azz off! I have yet to try the cruise control though.

Before I disconnected the A/c system (to install the Paxton) the system took forever to cool, then I reinstalled the a/c, and since they refilled the a/c, it blows COLD right from startup...

You guys may have just changed my mind about buying a SRT10. I am the one with the GTO for trade, it has the worlds best A/C system known to man. It is 105° in the summer with just as much humidity and I have to keep my A/C system fan on the lowest setting to keep from freezing. Sometimes I even have to add a little heat with the cold-hot knob.

Yep!

Thats how I bought my last car too. If the A\C don't work, I'm not interested

Although the funny part is, when the Power Steering pump was going bad, the truck ran hotter, it was harder to steer and the A\C was a little lame at times. With the new pump, the engine runs 20 degrees cooler, turns like it is supposed to and the A\C hinges on artic.....

Not sure how all those items tie in, but thats my story...and I'm sticken to it!

I just came across the southwest and the AC worked very well once it got cold. We had to turn it down and add heat. I like an airconditioner that spits ice cubes at you.

The Dodge is good but does not cool quite as well at low speed start up as my 05 Chevy Dually or the 04 Ranger.
The Chevy Diesel Dually sat at idle in the staging lanes in Pomona last year and idled for 2.5 hours and the engine temp never moved off 192 and the AC spit ice cubes.

Some Dodge owners have added an electric fan to the cooling stack and that seems to take care of the start up and low speed cooling issue. I was on the phone with Stinker earler and we were talking about just that same thing. He added a Spal to his and it works very well after the addition of the electric fan. He has a variable control on his where the electric fan runs at 1/2 speed at 170 degrees and then comes to full speed at 190-200 degrees.
I am going to get one coming this week for the red truck.

Added an electric fan on the front of mine and it made a drastic improvement in the A/C. Boomer sells kits.

Agree..did the same mod from Boomer, big improvement on the AC cooling.

I did the same, and it definitely helps the compressor/AC. Asked Boomer about fitting one to the front of the actual radiator and/or moving the trans cooler to help more with the engine cooling. It has to go thru compressor and part of the trans cooler to get to the radiator. It would be nice to mount another one there. Boomer's kit has wiring to setup two fans.
