A friend and I are buying a load of AN lines and fittings. We are working on the vehicles this weekend. Anyone have any tips or tricks i could use? Are the special tools worth the money?

need a "very good" set of an wrenches, and a aluminum vise block to assemble the lines, along with lubricant and some thread sealer, and be prepared to screw up the first four or five

if your using the stainles braded lind get a set of cutters from summit, wrap electrical tape where you want to cut it and cut in the center of the tape.

Is the vice block really needed?

for a professional result AN wrenches and plastic vise blocks are mandatory. Aluminum can still mar the surface if not careful when placed in the vise. If the $8 for a set is too much hit your local HD. I can think of a doz plastic items sold there that would suffice.

As for cutting AN lines I prefer old school. Pick up a masonry chisel, sharpen it on a grinder. 2lb sledge hammer and a hard solid surface makes fast clean cuts. btw...wood is not a hard solid surface :p If you hand cut or using a cutting wheel be sure and wrap with electrical tape first.

Everything went extremely well, we made quite a few hoses. Pump, filter, regulator, fuel rail, return line. Also the oil coolers send and return, and the pcv catch can. All of these were on his car, not my srt-10 sadly. But it was a very valuable learning experience. I will be doing mine soon.

Good looking out man. Fortunatly we did pressure test them before we put them on the truck. Thanks alot for that tip.

Good deal. Better to test with air than fluids. ;)
