Talked To Dave @ True Performance last night:

First of all, EVERYTHING is finally in. Had to wait for the CUSTOM Oliver rods to fit the Ross Pistons because the wrist pin size was not standard. FINALLY  they came in and the machinist is working on my motor as we speak. He said that he ordered some super heavy duty rods that are 100grams heavier than stock, so it giving him FITS balancing the crank. He plans on having the motor back to Dave by Thursday, Dave plans on working thru the weekend to get the truck back together. Ive added the Stryker heads, the DC Performance Ram Air sealed airbox, fresh air inlet, elbow with boss for water meth delivery before the compressor, and a 10 lb pulley for the Paxton. Our hopes are that she should be running by Monday or so. They plan on getting it together and put a few miiles on her before the fine tuning.

I need some advice regarding the Stryker heads. They put the heads on a flow bench and surprisingly they outperformed the claimed flow on the INTAKE SIDE. They are comparing them to a worked set of stockers that are going into their TT truck with dual stage 300 shot. The Strykers flowed 320 @ .050 (claimed 310) on the intake side, the worked set flowed 290. All good there, the machinist was VERY IMPRESSED. However, on the Exhaust side the worked Stockers Smoked the Strykers. I think by 25-30 CFM. My question is this, since I have them out and all, should I let this machinist modify the Stryker heads to improve exhaust flow??? He has recommended it, and its not alot of $$, so..... He says that the reason they are like this is because they are a run of the mill head that is most likely designed for N/A. The heads that they are comparing them to were specifically made for a TT application for more flow. There it is, any ideas will be appreciated.

I would have them work the heads before they put it together for sure. Why not, better now than later.

we have a set of strykers here now, have him rework the short side radius on the exhaust. also, back cut the exhaust valves. BUT did you test the heads with a piece of pipe or headers hooked up to them? that make a major difference in real world flow.

Your project sounds like its getting better and better. I hope for the best. Dan at DC gave me some numbers with the meth, paxton thing and the numbers were pretty impressive. I cant wait to see how yours turns out!! Where did you get or find a 10# pulley?

OK... I told him to do that Boomer. Is there anything else that needs to be done now??? While he's got em on the machine I might as well do all modifications to the heads now.
