The bible is literature...some interpret some of it literally...usually they pick and choose what to believe and what to ignore...strange.
This is a important observation:congrats:

And a Huge money maker for a lot of so called ministries.

Momma send me that SS check and you will receive a 100 fold in return:(

I really despise organized religion as it is the work of man to deceive , not the way of God

Wisdom from the nearly human...or is that super human? How is Yetti, yette, yettie spelled anyway?

Interesting stuff about the caverns! I presume my old stomping grounds of Ocean Beach are at risk.

Ya know I think this is sad but true:(

Spiritual is fine, organized religion is OK for those who feel the need. The chance for abuse is huge...but I also think that organized religion fills a need that lots of people have, and when not abused, can be a great social force.

Just not for this old fart...Sunday mornings are for racquetball, IMO.

any faction that breeds guilt, and prospers from it is sketchy.

And destructive too. Religion in my opinion needs to be uplifting, not threatening, loving not vindictive, supportive not suppressing. But who am I to say?

Albeit, faith is good, it is a inside job this thing we call life, time to saw logs...........

I've seen alot of effective ministry being done in church. But I've seen alot of darkness there, too..... I have no problem with what people believe as long as they don't make it mandatory to others... particularly when it comes to threats of eternal flaming torture....

I concur that the opportunities and instances of abuse are both flagrant and frequent, too. Beating the sheep for the purposes of perpetual indentured servitude and filling one's pockets with their money should be punishable by death.

Sunday is my day of rest....... I thank God for the fact that I can sleep til 1:30pm and not miss out on any commerce....
