Hi Guys,
My name is Hector, and I'm from San Jose CA. I've always been a Chevy man, but I've been a huge fan of the Ram SRT-10 since it came out. Since the best Chevy can do is the Silverado SS, and that's just not good enough. The 10 is definitely my exception.
I am now finally able to afford a used one, and have began the search. When I decided it was time to buy one I started snooping around the site here to learn as much as I could. It was a great help. Your guys' discussions about certain issues such as the automatic trans going bad when the truck is s/c or turbo'd, how bad tunes mess up the truck, and how lowering kits should be axles flips and welded helped me out when choosing a truck. I'm looking for a 2006 QC. I don't want to buy something someone else already "modified" and potentially beat the crap out of so I'd rather get one that is as stock as possible. I am really into the Black 10s, especially the Night Runner and it's cool lights and wheels. I have not bought the truck yet, but I did just get back from checking out 2 candidates. I would like to run them by you guys and see what you guys think.
Truck #1:
Truck #2:
I like both trucks but I am leaning toward the regular QC because it just seems like it was better taken care of by it's previous owner. The owner of the NR is a cool dude, but I get the feeling that the truck may have been beat on a bit.
What do you guys think? Are these trucks too expensive for their condition? KBB is $37,000 for excellent condition. I would give the regular QC an excellent rating. The NR is fair. I am also buying my truck cash. When I asked the guy at the used car lot how much he would take for the regular QC in cash, his manager said $33,000 out the door. The truck is advertised at $29k, wtf? I thought they would give me a break for paying cash. I guess I was wrong. I'm not in a hurry though so I'm going to let them sweat it out. In the mean time I will continue to look around. I'll drive anywhere in CA to get one, as long as it's worth it.
Thanks guys and I look forward to jumping in on the threads once I get my truck. For now I'll just be a poser.

Truck #1:
- 2006 QC Night Runner (205/400). Private seller asking $30,000obo.
- 18,5XX miles.
- 2 long scratches along the sides (looks like they can be buffed out)
- 2 BALD front tires. 2 rear tires are new but they are all terrain and seem bulky.
- 2 Curb rashed rims (remember, these are dark gray night runner rims)
- Volant Ram Air Intake
- Magnaflow Exhaust
- Flip axle lowering kit
- Navigation, blue tooth, sat. radio
- Stock sub has been pulled out, and in it's place is just an amp with no woofers attached. :dontknow:
- Interior is in Good condition
- This guy used to work at a BMW dealership and bought the truck from the dealer after the original owner traded it in to get an M6. He used to it tow a boat.
Truck #2:
- 2006 Black QC. Used car lot asking $29,995.
- 13,2XX miles.
- Aftermarket black headlights (clear lens, not just smoked)
- Gibson Headers (I don't know what the rest of the exhaust is like)
- K&N intake
- Blue Tooth, otherwise stock sound system (no navi)
- Interior is in Excellent condition
- This truck is pretty much stock besides the stuff mentioned above. BUT I would think that if someone put and intake and headers (maybe mufflers, cats, etc) they may have tuned it. This truck is at a used car lot and the salesman was some dumb looking kid that didn't know what he was talking about so I didn't even ask if he knew if it was tuned or what the rest of the exhaust was like. If I go back, I'll go underneath and make sure of everything.
