ANOTHER QUESTION CONCERNING MY SON'S 04' HEMI

when i bought it ...only came with one key:
options are pay out big money to a dealer to have another (new) key programmed, or hide the chip/key in the column and purchase some blanks from e-bay and have them cut. can i just silicone the whole key somewhere inside the steering column or do i have to remove the chip first? (which i'm a little hesistant to do) i know some of yall' have done the viper key upgrade, what did yall' do about the chip?

considering it does add some security to the truck, i'd get a blank........ unfortunately, you'd then have to have the blank programmed - it takes two originals to program another yourself for free.... take it to a locksmith locally, they can program for ALOT CHEAPER than the dealer..... locksmith's are alot cheaper than the dealer on blank keys too.

i can get a couple of blank keys for about $30.00,and have them cut for $4.00. so with tax and shipping,i can solve my problem for about $40.00.( if i can silicone my transponder key inside the column and it works):dontknow:
