I am about 20 miles from the cape.... It takes about 30 seconds after launch for my windows to start rattling. :D

I watch them from my back yard. :)

i used to live in melbourne, and I don't remember how far it was but when that thing would launch it was loud! it went at night one time, and I swear it was so bright you could read a newspaper out there.

good shit

Yep.... INSTANT DAYLIGHT.

They say, if that puppy detonates on the ground, it is the equivilant of a 50 KT Nuke. That's why they keep the control center 3 miles away w/ 2ft thick blast doors. Strangely enough, the spectator post is right in front of the control center. :dontknow: :D

cool launch....

boosters burn 11,000lbs of fuel per SECOND.....
And that there is a true Super Tank

I do have a question tho...... A friend of mine was at another location for the launch. He had a set of binoculars and said he saw what looked like 2 Stealth Aircraft (1 B2 and 1 F117) in close proximity to the shuttle, as it went up on ascent. :dontknow:

Is that normal procedure? :dontknow: I'm sure Bone would know. ;) .... and NOT sure if that's something "we" are "suppose" to see, or not? :) ;)

If anyone has any info, please let me know. He is quite curious as to what he saw in the sky today. :dontknow:
