I need someone who knows a good deal about antiques.

I have a large jewel cakset that was my grandmother's. It is (I believe) Capodimonte.

Wanna know what it is worth.

Absolutely gorgeous piece. I see the label says 1943? Unfortunately I am not familiar with this piece or the makers mark:(

There were so many makers of very nice Porcelain/ ceramics both here, England, and Asia you should take it to an appraiser, unless someone here can identify it for certain.

Someone like the American Society of Appraisers PO Box 17625 Washington, DC 20041 703-478-2228. You could also try the International Society of Appraisers 16040 Christensen Road. Ste. 320, Seattle WA 98188-2929.
206-241-0359. Ask for a list of certified appriasers of personal property. If they can't help you I'm sure they can steer you to the right place...

Hope this helps :dontknow:

Scotty I will hook you up Bro....A little known fact is I come from a long line of Antique dealers and appraisers in my family....I can tell you that it's not all that old....By the markings I would say early 40's and it is indeed Capo. However it has a commercial stamp so if I had to.....Antiques don't grow in value just because they are old either....But to the right collector you could prolly get 500. for it....I need to look at my books to be 100% sure.......But the N means it was made in the Naples facility....that I know for sure.....Gimme until tomorrow afternoon and I will give you a better idea Bro. :D

You should take it to Antiques Road Show!!!

That is quite ornate.... looks to be hand painted porcelain too!

Coolio Bro! Thanks!

A lady at an antique store once told me that she thought it would be worth upwards of 10K, depending on the collector, but I wasn't very confident in her abilities. Would be cool if it was worth more, but no biggie.

Ooooohh, you're good! ;)

Actually, the way that I understand it, the label is not necessarily the manufacture date, but could be the date of sale.:dontknow:

This is true Scotty.... It's the N mark that I need to research for you....that will give me all the info I need....Problem with it is the N is pressed and not hand painted which automatically tells me that it's not an early piece. Of couse seeing it in person I could tell more, but I will attempt to get r dunn for ya :D
