Just wondering if there are any Bimmer owners on here. Maybe it's your winter beater or ? :dontknow:

i have one ( 316 ) , for the kids ....only because they want a BMW... i rally'd a 2002 , 323... had 4 2002's , 320 and a 528i... all great cars but now i go US...... with one eye on a M6.... :D :D :D

Partner is lusting after an M8, he has an 845 and an M4. He also buys rides and sells BMW motorcycles like candy...a real Beemer freak...got a dealers license just so he could go to the auctions and buy BMW's drive them and sell them back.

We've had about 8 BMW's over the years.... 3 and 5 series. I've been looking around for a 01-04 328/330Ci for my girl. :)

BMW makes great cars! ..... But, I haven't been a fan of the new body styles lately. :puke:

Yep, lots of misnomers out there. ;) The only car designated "M8" (there was only one unit produced...) was this car:

It was a concept/mule for the motorsport team. It was never in production. Here is a pic of the engine:

The 850CSi was always considered to be the "M" version of the 8 Series, but it was never designated as such.

Here is some good reading on the subject....

///M Badges are quite prevalent among BMW owners. Hell, I had a "M5" badge on the back of my '89 535i :) (They looked exactly alike, besides a small front spoiler on the real M5)

They DID NOT make a M version of the Z8 either. They sold a ALPINA version in the US and Europe, that I posted in my last post. This is probably what was seen by Eddie. Someone just stuck a M8 badge on the back. ;) Here is the biggest site for Z8 enthusiasts... http://www.bmwz8.us/index.php Great info there, as well. :)

Had a BMW X5 for about 2.5 years, excellent vehicles! Sold it and bought the Denali. I wanted to keep it for a beater, I just do not have the room and I will be adding another viper soon, if I can find the one I want.

I don't own any, but I fix 'em for a living.

My parents have owned 2 E46 M3s( SMG coupe, 6spd conv), E39 M5, X5 4.8is, the only one they currently still have is a Z8 (not the crap-tastic Alpina version, the real thing).
