ok i know im new here but here goes.

i have a 04 rc. ive had it for 2 years now and 6 months ago it started jumping out of second gear if you weren't bangin throu them. now it does it all the time if i shift it under 5,000. Heres the kicker. at idle it has a clunking sound as if the throwout bearing was going, but if you push it in gear BARELY with the clutch out it stops. i think it is the imput shaft bearing but dodge says there is nothing wrong with the trans. i really dont want to pull it out myself to check it out. any suggestions? i know the owner of the dealer real well and he says he will change the trans if it is bad but the mechanic says there is nothing wrong with it or the clutch. any comments are appreciated

If your warranty is still good, IMO try another Dealer.

I would try another dealer too, or talk to your buddy at the dealership, cause there is certainly something wrong with it.

So I see you are in Hackettstown, real close to where I grew up. Went to Belvidere HS.

You probably have a bearing in the tranny bad IMO, also possibly a shifting fork gone bad, you need will need a new tranny, or rebuild.

i tryed the dealer i bought it at and the dealer where i know the owner. maybe ill have to try a few more.

i know something is wrong, but the mechanic wont listen to me because he thinks i dont know what im talking about. its just aggrivating because i dont see the point in paying to get it fixed when i can get it fixed under warrenty

catch it on video coming out of gear by itself (if it's frequent enough that it's possible to do)...

I had issues with my transmission and my steering on my RC... it wasn't terrible it was just intermittent... that combined with the clutch brakes and tires all needing to be replaced I just justified trading it in :D

It may be time to talk to the Better Business Bureau or the State Attorney General. Or at least mention that in front of the service rep.

The dealership can't deny there is an issue if it is also happening to them, or you can demonstrate it TO them.
Obviously Chrysler Corp does NOT give their dealerships the option of NOT fixing a broken car under their warranty.
They've gotta do something!

I bought my truck in Bath, PA - Near Allentown at Brown-Daub Dodge, off Rt.22, but that's North of me, about 1 hour away.

I used Bergey's Dodge in Franconia, Pa for my Crank Pulley problem. They could not have treated me better. I drove the truck up to show them that the Pulley was coming off and admitted I didn't buy it from them. Right on the spot they said if I could leave it they'd put it in the shop overnight and get to it the next day. Then they gave me a ride home (10 minutes away). The next day it was all fixed up!

Thankfully, that was my only trip to the dealer - Truck has been great otherwise!

Brown-Daub actually has multiple dealerships. Their Dodge dealership is on Rt.248 (I think that's the route #. It's been a while? 1 exit past Rt.191 traveling West on Rt.22), north of Rt.22 about 5-10 miles.

I've heard too many negative things about Reedman. <---:thefinger:

yep. reedman sucks. i walked in with 40 g cash when i was 17. it took 9 hours for me to finish the paperwork and leave. but anyway yes it is on 248 (aka northhmpton street)
