i have heard that cerwin vegas are the best out in market but that the kickers are good to who know which is better

I was gonna make a wise crack about Subway, but I won't......no, I won't.... ;) :D

I prefer Rockford or Diamond. About the most you can do in QC is one 10 without losing space. I would pull the stock box out and cargo rack and go with a custom fiberglassed box and have one 10 back there and try to use more box space than the stock junk.

WILDMAN

I have a Kicker in mine and love it, But it's really just personal preference. Quality is real close.

I have built 3 SPL and DB drag competion vechicles and I've used either Rockford Fosgate or Beyma.... I'm not a big fan of kicker...

Here my system is all Cewin Vega and very hapy with it !

I love mine very nice sound

Box is Just right, Someone else bought the same one and he likes it too. I can probably give you the number of the guy he and I got mine from, he can have them send it to a dealer near you.

Here is a pic of it

Since when is Cerwin Vega the best subs on the market? :dontknow:

I would go with Diamond, DEI, JL Audio, MTX, or Kicker. Have someone from a REAL stereo shop help you out... Ordering speakers from Crutchfield, Best Buy, or some of the other "Big Box" stores usually turns out to be more of a PITA than it's worth (for me anyway). ;)

there are alot of good subs on the market but its really its your own call on the one you want. the thing you really need to ask is how big of a box is it going to be in? and what type of system are you going to buy? if your just adding subs and maybe a bigger amp then really the only question is the first question. how big of a box (air space, cubic feet per sub) is it going to be in? and build your system from there. some subs wont fit in boxes the size you may need. i know the kickers require very small (air space) box to run. the cv require a bigger (air space) box. but again its really up to you.

good luck man and rock on

 :thrasher:

Subs

I'd really like to tell ya, but I bought the whole system from a shop here in NJ, and I have no Idea what each part costs(he's a friend and I trust him). Texas Yellow Just bought one from them, and they had it shipped to a place near him.
It really sounds great, even with 'no name' subs. I have a 400 watt Diamond Audio Amp pushing it, and it vibrates my hair.

How much modding was done to get the box in there? Was it just a drop in place kind of thing? Where is your amp?

Everyone has their own .02 about what subs to run and which are best but here is the kicker about your post, no one asked you what you listen to and what type of sound you wanted to achieve? I know you want more bass that's a given, but are you looking for boomy bass or tighter deeper bass? This will make a big difference as far as the box is concerned.
A sealed box will be much tighter and cleaner but will require almost twice as much power as a porteded box to be the same volume out put. The box will be small, average size box for a 10" sub is about .50 cu/ft per woofer.
A ported box will be "louder" esp at the tuned freq of port but it will be boomy. The box will be larger, average size of a 10" sub ported box is about 1.25cu/ft per woofer.
Answer that for me and then I can give you some more facts and not just opinions.

anybody know of a better DIRECT replacement woofer for the stock box/amp ? i think its a dual voice coil...whatever that is:dontknow:

oh, and a cheap improvement if you haven't done so, stuff some polyfill in the stock box!

The sub we have is a DVC (dual voice coil) if you want more bass just add a bigger amp like I did. It sounds awesome and thus far no problems!!:burnout:
