Figure about $200 per square for Dimensional 30 year shingles, with the new code peel and stick in lieu of felt paper inclues new valley metal , ridge cap , vent lead boots, ridge vent and magnetic clean up!!!( a square is 100sf)

My mother-in-law just paid $4K to have her roof redone. Old shingles removed down to the felt paper and re-shingled with 30 year shingles. She has a cape cod style house with a steep pitch. About 1700 sqft. first floor.

A year ago I had one of my rentals done and it came out to just over $100 a square. Just did my cabin and cost of materials (petroleum) along with remote location contractor wanted $350 a square. Ended up doing it myself for about $150 a square. Included new felt, flashing, drip rails and metal valleys.

Really all depends on materials and who is doing the work...Send me all the info and I will send you a quote on materials tomorrow.

Very different prices for different materials. A standard roof with a 3 tab 25 yr shingle can cost anywhere from 250 -400 per square. It also depends on if you are re-roofing - (most applications you can add up to 3 roofs before you have to rip the old layers off) or its new construction.

A standard asphalt shingle avg price would be 300 per sq (100 sf). If you have many valleys ond a very steep roof, it can cost more as well. Many factors to think about. I am in NY so everything costs more.
