Hi,
I am in need of a HUGE favor from you guys!! Please take the time to read, I am not asking for money!
Just giving you the reason for your assistance in parade.
My god-sister, Maya Makeda Steele (see picture below) was born on May 25, 1989. In 2008, she graduated a honor graduate from Twiggs County High School. Her dreams were to become a dentist. She completed her freshman year at Armstrong University, but due to lack of funds, she decided to complete her undergraduate degree at Macon State College. Sadly, on December 14, 2009, Maya Steele’s beautiful life and inspiring dreams came to a devastating end after being involved in a fatal automobile accident.

As a result of this tragic loss, her family and several members of Williams Chapel C.M.E Church formed a committee in her loving memory. This committee is motivated to assist in the educational advancement of our youth by offering three (3) college scholarships. It is our objective to successfully offer three (3) $1,000 scholarships to eligible recipients,
1) a Twiggs County High School graduating senior,
2) undergraduate enrolled at Macon State University or
3) undergraduate enrolled at Armstrong University.
The Macon State and Armstrong University scholarships will be also offered to non-Twiggs County residents. The scholarships will be awarded annually through The Maya M. Steele Memorial Scholarship Fund.
On January 8, 2011 in Jeffersonville, GA (Twiggs County) there will be a Martin Luther King Day Parade. Our group will partake in the parade, and I really want to get the message out in order to get more donations toward scholarship. We are about $2100 short of our $5,000 yearly goal. I don't want other organizations to over power our message. I would love if I could get some volunteers to follow me in the parade. Her favorite color is purple, so if you have a purple shirt (would love for u to wear it, if not black or white shirt is fine). I don't think one truck will get the full attention I want our organization to have. It would JUST be apart of the parade, but I want our organization to leave a mark in their memory. What better way to do that then a line of Viper trucks. If I am unable to get VTCOA members then there is the option of this motorcycle group I know that would aid, but I want you.
If there are any volunteers please give a holler. I don't care if it's just one. Thanks!! You guys are always supportive when you are able to be, and don't think it's under appreciated. It's not, by far! :burnout:
