Anyone done research into a rotrex supercharger?

Basically what it is is a turbo attached to a pulley that works identical to any s/c. Therefore you get the efficiency of a turbo, without the lag, and the piping and stuff is much less complicated.

There obviously aren't any kits available, but someone on the celica boards is making upwards of 270hp (180hp stock) on a conservative tune and factory pulley with their custom s/c.

I'm not sure how much it would help a high displacement motor like the srt's.. but I'm just interested in maybe opening new doors for more hp.
 
The Paxton is basically the same idea. A centrifugal SC driven by a crank pulley. The Rotrex is an interesting newcomer (at least to me). We need to be very careful boosting these engines. One wrong move is an expensive move. Some here have done more than once.

That is exactly the reason why my decision was to go Paxton or Roe (went Paxton), but both had a proven history. Unlike STS, or even Hennessy (dare I mention the name...)

Re read..........drink a beer...... then repeat the first step!!! Unless of course you like being a guinea pig.....and they aint cheap when it comes to Viper motors!
