anyone else have problems Speeding?

Ok well let me starty off to say i love going fast.... i mean me and the girl friend could be yelling at each other for 2 -3 hours i go jump in the truck and let her rip with a grin on my face from when i start it up...... my questiopn is does anyone else have a problem speeding.. it's like 80 in this thing isn't 80mph at all....doesn't feel like it doesn't smell like it.... the reason i asked is cause i'v been pulled over twice this week.... an honestly i'v got a bad habbit of seting the cruise on 80mph an just rolling but most of the time thats what the other traffic is doing on I-35.......... i'v been busted doing 95 in a 60 an 80 in a 55 <---- that one was at 3:30 in the morning...an is getting dismissed cause the cop.....rode my ass for 8 miles before stoping me..............anyway just seeing if anybody else has this same problem..... i meanm it's in my family.... we have owned drag cars been the NHRBA Champs in our class with our drag boat........also one more question whats the best radar detector? i think i might need one lol....none the less :rock:
 
everywhere i go its almost like 100mph on my highway up here. I bought a jammer in the states at cabella's and havent even had it go off yet. I dont drive like an ass in town, or around other people where i could put them in danger. The trucks fun to drive and rip through the gears though for sure;)
 
Best radar detector is the Valentine 1. Only place to get it is direct from the website which is valentine1.com. You can also upgrade these rather than buy new ones when the police get new technology. I speed all the time but I try to be smart about it.

I purposely chose the mineral gray color so it would be a sleeper to the fuzz and I have not gotten 1 ticket in a year of owning this beast. My last vehicle was a magnet for the popo. Your biggest obstacle is the color of your truck. Red attracts the fuzz. The valenitne 1 has saved me 4 or 5 times and I only use it when I am in unfamiliar territory. I know where the cops are on my regular routes.
 
I love my sr7 by passport, I added a Valentine 1 to it about a week ago(copied from someone here), I like the v1's arrows to show where the signal is coming from. All that and now I find myself driving the speed limit....
 
well see thats the thing my moms a cop.. they know everything about my truck they know i go race they know i speed they know it does'nt have cats...and they are real cool about it but.....yes i agree about the color... it does stand out...and another thing i kinda know where the cops are but most of the time im on the highway.. so i guess thiye best bet would be to get the V1.. i'v heard good things about them just haven't really needed 1 until this past month i guess
 
I hate driving the speed limit on the highway too. Very little traffic and no towns in between. Since I got my truck I haven't gotten one speeding ticket in it yet. The day will come for sure. But I have had to restrain my self a lot on the highway. I need a good driving record for my job. Going slow is just so boring:D in these trucks.
 
I always drive fast, and always will. In a 4 month stretch in 05 I got 3 speeding tickets with my truck, since then I am a lot more careful of my speed.

We all speed ---what the heck we have the need to feel the power --thats why we bought a truck like this
 
You should *attempt* to do the speed limit in a Viper. Especially a STOCK one! With the way it's geared, 6th is completely useless until about 70mph. You find yourself 'loafing along' at 90!:eek:



Part of my excuse for getting 3.55 gears was to slow me down to ~70mph!
The other part was to get there faster!;) :D
 
I know I try sometimes to keep at a pace of 65mph. but than 5 minutes later its more like 90, 95, 100. How do you not speed????
 
idk it's hard....same thing with the trucks i guess 6 gear is pretty much useless until about 70...and heck if you think about you can pull 5th gear to 120+mph and then six doesn't even sound like it's stretching it's legs... idk i guess a Radar detector is a must

4th gear in a stock Viper will pull to almost 160!!!:eek:

yeah cruise control is only way i keep mine on speed limit lol sucks here 55 speed limit. other than that i am a big fan of the passports myself have owned one since i was 16 and had them ever since.
 
also have a problem with it, have been lucky and still no tickets. Came close a few times but thank god for divided Highways.
 
well like has been stated before its hard to do the speed limit in this truck,so yes I speed.
 
I added to my recent collection of tickets this AM. . . . :mad: :(

I was in a string of cars - "going with the flow". It was myself and two other cars. I was in the middle. All three of us got pulled over. It was damned ol' speed-trap!!!!
 
I quit speeding in mid-November...will not speed again until March or April.

Proud of you Roy,now you have time to get the truck cleaned so it will look good when you do get a chance to speed.:rock: :rock:
 
yeah i know how you feel i'm more than likely not going to have my license if this keeps up.. 2 tickets in 1 week and 1 big warning! lol
