The piece that is closest to the windshield to where the first contour of the dash. It goes all the way from the drivers side to the passenger, but only a few inches from the windshield.
If I remember, the side closest to the seats lifts straight up, and the side closest to the windshield pulls toward you.
I can check again tomorrow when it is light out. And can get pics.

You may also need to remove the rubber door molding (partially) from the A pillar and remove the A pillar covers (both of them) in order to remove the dash panel.

No need to remove A-pillars. The upper panel just pops off.

didn't need to remove mine either. Just popped off. watch the edge of the plastic piece. It is a bit sharp. I am pretty cure it cut my finger when I was trying to get it to pop.

Cool, I was thinking about the Kicker speaker upgrade and was reading over the install instructions -- they called for removal of the A pillar covers. But if that dash cover comes off without tearing apart more stuff, double bonus points.

I did the kicker upgrade and saw the same instructions. They're wrong, you can just pop the top panel off.:)

If you have the factory radio then the Kicker upgrade sounds great even compaired to the infinity system. Patrick had the complete Kicker upgrade system in his 08 QC and it definantly sounded good. Also the Kicker speakers are just as much if not cheaper then a lot of the ones you would find at places like BestBuy and they plug right in

For the 06, a Kicker sub (with box) upgrade is also available, along with an upgraded amp for the other speakers.
