There's a nice riding park in Beckley WV too. I personally like it better than Hatfield McCoy. I think the name was Burning Rock. They have a website I think. Let me know if you come to WV riding or wanna plan a trip. I'd like to GTG for a ride.

hey man, where the atv goes so does the truck! will let you know in the spring. i love to trail ride too.

gotta warn ya thou, i am not as crazy as i was when i was a kid, i don't do triples or even doubles. so if its a MX park i would have to say no, lol.

The 450 would win on the track stock vs stock. Drag race should be close to a tie.
Burning rock is a trail system with easy to hard trails mapped. There are no jumps unless you just run too fast. I have only had my YZ250 dirtbike there but it was fun, much funner than Hatfiled McCoy. Hatfield McCoy was mostly just rodes and such. I have riding better than that near my home.

I have a DVX400, Raptor 660 and a Suzuki 500 Vinson so I can ride sport or 4x4.

I think they are open year round. It just depends on when you wanna ride. Where do you live?

Good deal, PM me later when you think you wanna come down. Hell, we can leave my house and ride all day! If I take my 4x4, I may have to throw some cold ones in a cooler.

banshees would have a little faster top end, but the 450s would win hands down, the banshees are more made for climbing in the dunes

Banshees can also be modded to far outperform the 450s.

anything can be modded up to beat anything else depending on how much and how far you wanna take it, my buddy who owns Hansen Performance out of St Anthony Idaho is running some 450s a honda and a yamaha with everything lightweight, no plastics, amazingly fast climbers, where as he has built some awesome banshees

After going from a race bike(built yz250) to a quad last year so I could just hang with friends I tested every stinking bike out there. It was truly an easy choice at the end. The Raptor 700 is a monster. It is super light and pulls like a freight train. With gear I'm 240lbs and this bike has absolutely no problems with me. Heck, since Tif's been sick when I go riding I put her on the back(120lbs) and crank all over the mountains. Bike has never blinked. Plus you have the reverse which in my opinion is a must. I purchased a new 2007 GYTR Edition and the only mod it has is a twist throttle, as I couldn't get used to that thumb crap. All the guys I ride with refuse to drive it because they end up on their backs. They blame on the twist throttle be I know its the power they can't handle

I agree that the Raptor might be the best choice for a big dude like scoob. I have ridden 400's, 450's, and the Banshee. The banshee is bad ass in a straight line-it's the turns that it doesn't like. From what I have read, I suggest you go for the Raptor 700 or if you want a 450, go with the Honda. You can't beat a Honda, especially if you tend to leave a bike stock. The Honda parts will last longer than any other bike out there. Stay away from KTM unless you want to deal with issues more often than you should have to and they are known for warranty denials. I have a Honda 450 MX bike and I love it. I have had a Yamaha 450 and a 250 two stroke and the Honda is just so much nicer in stock form.

I would have agreed with you on the Honda about ten years ago but now I would say Suzuki has the best stock bike. Yamaha isn't even in the running.

I don't know about that. Then again, Suzuki is the one brand I have no experience with so you might be right. Are their stock handlebars, perches and levers, sprockets, and chain good quality? I have a 2005 Honda CRF450R bike and the only parts I have replaced are the sprockets, chain, and tires and I put a hell of a lot of hours on it. It has been through some pretty big get offs as well and I have never even had to replace the handlebars or plastics. On the other hand, I have had 3 surgeries, about 50 staples and two ER visits due to the crashes. I even crunched the radiator soon after I bought it but never replaced it and it still holds fluid and keeps the bike cool.

As for the 450 Quads, the Suzuki seems to need less mods for a MX track when stock due to the wider and lower stance. I'm not a quad guy myself but I know people that are and the axles, a-arms, and shocks are really pricey. I think you can save money on a-arms and extended axles with the Suzuki.

Sounds like a very biased Suzuki owner to me. During my testing faze the suzuki was last on my list. The only thing I liked about it was how low it sat. I would go test ride them for yourself to see what fits you. But I'm willing to bet that suzuki won't even be a contender. And even the lower stance wouldn't work for me. I take mine everywhere and over anything. I'd spend half my day getting it off of logs if I lowered it.
