Anyone have any good street racing stories??? please share..

Ran a civilian this morning from work. He has a Dodge Turbo Diesel with headers, exhaust and a Bully Dog programmer. Now remember, I am in my Hemi QC Truck, not Viper. He pulls up to me at a stop light a few lights from going on base (he knows me) and revs his engine. "Hey, where's your RT-10?" Told him I was working on it presently. So now his fangs are out, eyes are big and says, "Now I can beat up on you! Raced a few hemis before..." I tell him, "sounds like a plan."

Light shortly turns green, I didn't know if he was going to do it or not, so I waited to see what he was going to do. Sure enough, he punched it, so who am I to deny this engagement?! I never did mention that I have done some mods to this hemi truck too. So by about 25 miles an hour I already caught up to him, being all-wheel drive had no trouble launching. 35 had a couple of lengths on him. By about 55 (in a 55mph of course) I had easily 7-8 truck lengths.

Get to the front gate of the base, tell the security cop to give my regards to the truck behind me. I drive on, look through my rear view mirror, what do I see, but him slapping the side of his truck in disgust when the cop tells him! LOL

Nothing better to start off the day. :D :burnout:

06 SRT8 vs 06 GTO

I took my 15 yr old son to Wally World to get some batteries for one of his games..the parking lot is almost full and I am looking for that "spot" when I eye an 06 Charger Daytona Banana and a customized restored 80s Monte Carlo with a parking space in between them...figure these two will be as anal as me about dents so my SRT should be fine in between them. Went in the store but they did not have the battery he needed. Got the phone book out and called around.

While sitting there a woman comes up and taps on my window...I rolled it down and she says "what do you mean parking next to me and making my car look bad?"...she starts laughing and I find out she owns the Banana...I asked her if she had bought it at the local dealer but found out she lived about 60 miles away. Said she and her husband wanted the SRT but could not find one close to home so settled for the TB......hang on I'm getting to the GTO..

We then went to the local mall and found his battery at Radio Shack...I pulled up to the light exiting the mall and look in my rear view and see a red GTO coming up behind me followed by a Vanilla Magnum...the light turns and I slowly pull out trying not to bottom out going over the hump to get on the street...I get over it an accel ahead..looking back I see the GTO taking his time over the hump...once he clears I see him rapidly accel up to me...I tell my son that I bet that Goat behind us is looking for a race..

He passes me but slows down to match my speed...I keep back just acting like I didn't notice..about 2 miles and we come up to a red light..the left lane has another car stopped at the light so the GTO pulls into the right lane in front of me. As we are sitting at the light I tell my son to get ready...he is about to see some action...sure enough the GTO pops the clutch and smoke boils from his tires....he hits second and spins the tires again with smoke...at 75 ft I am closing in and I turn on my signal...at 100 ft I have closed the gap and I make a right turn onto the street leading to my house...yeah, blew that goat away...beat him home....

what have you done to the hemi ?? thoes diesels are fricken fast with a chip and some small mods... that hemi must run real strong ... what you do to it ??? what kinda hp?

Here's one about a friend of mine,
I get a call one morning from my friend (05 hemi daytona Q/C) stating that he just got his ass kicked by a GTO,and how tired he is of losing all the time.Then told me that he's ready to step up.So,in went a Paxton,headers,catback and B/G tune.A couple of days later he called me,yelling that he literaly smoked the same GTO, and shortly after that,a mustang!! Now he's happy with his trucks performance and says it was best money he has ever spent.

So now we resort to name calling and we are "geezers".

Guess I will have to remember that as it indicates a lack of respect. Considering the amount of help that the "geezers" have provided here to fellow members, that lack of respect, is not warrented.
