I'm currently due for an upgrade and to be 100% honest I'm not a huge fan of any of the phones. If I had to pick one, it'd be the LG enV2. I'm not willing to pay a boat-load for a damn phone. I don't need a blackberry or a PDA.

My question is: Are there any upcoming promotions aside from "red hot deal days"? A while back my GF scored a Chocolate for free (online promo). If I could get the LG enV2 for free - or cheaper than the online price of $99.99 I'll hold out a little longer.

A PM can be sent if this person prefers . . .

Thanks in advance!!

Do you have the first generation enV or the newest one - the enV2?

The new one..with the 2.0 megapixel camera and bluetooth

That's about the ONLY phone by verizon that I like. I like Corteney's Chocolate phone - but I wanna be different! :D

i bought the venus, i had the 1st envy i like it better the venus is aggravating to text once you get used to the envy.

I like My LG VX8300-----Does everything I need it to -----I think I'm coming up for a upgrade soon...

The chocolate is the biggest piece of crap phone I have ever owned. Can't wait until I can get rid of it, in another year or so.

I don't think you can use the iPhone on Verizon, I would love to have one though. Especially since all the machines in our household are Apple.

My baby's momma works for them and is very knowledgable about this stuff. I'll ask her today so I could let you know.

I use the Voyager.. I love it. But there's another model like it from Verizon that is a bit smaller.

you cannot unlock the iphone for verizon, completely different infrastructure / network. You can however unlock it for t-mobile, BUT you loose certain features like visual voicemail.

Price-wise, all the plans are roughly the same (comparison in minutes) but with at&t I get all the features with the iphone inc. unlimited Internet, and rollover minutes. Regardless how much of a comparison people try to put on the voyaer vs the iphone...not even close (went ot the verizon store and used one before i decided to go at&t)

JRSVIPER acually got me hooked on the phone.

That must be intentional.. I watched how Norwegians were unlocking iPhones to use in Scandinavia. In fact I recently purchased a new iPhone for one of my viking buddies that I will taking with me there in a couple weeks. But perhaps the phone will lack a lot of features in northern Europe too.:dontknow:

Seems like Apple is missing out on a huge market by not offering the phone for every provider. I'm guessing that ATT must have made them a hell of a deal to get picked as the only official provider. But I wonder if maybe that deal was set to a time frame? They might be available for all providers one of these days, if not the guys at Apple might not be as smart as they seem to be sometimes hehehe.

The word is, they offered verizon the contract first, but verizon did not think the iphone would be worth (read popular) the $$. So they offered the proposal to at&t, and they jumped on it. So At&t has sole contract with them, and part of the contract is NO other provider.

The contract however, does has a time limit...not sure of the length though.

Verizon Wireless, the No. 2 U.S. cellphone carrier, passed on the chance to be the exclusive distributor of the iPhone almost two years ago, balking at Apple's rich financial terms and other demands. More on this . . .While Cingular (er, AT&T, but you know what we mean) couldn't seem prouder of its iPhone exclusivity, apparently Apple's first choice was Verizon, but the two companies couldn't agree on a deal that worked for both Companies. "We said no." Said Jim Gerace, a VZW VP. "We have nothing bad to say about the Apple iPhone. We just couldn't reach a deal that was mutually beneficial." Talks began as far back as two years ago, but Apple's demands were steep. They also give us an idea of what exactly is behind the Apple / Cingular agreement: Apple wanted a percentage of monthly service fees, control over distribution that would limit iPhone sales to Apple and Verizon stores, and even some control over service and support for iPhone customers. "They would have been stepping in between us and our customers to the point where we would have almost had to take a back seat ... on hardware and service support," say Gerace. Cingular doesn't quite see it that way, so perhaps Apple changed its conditions a bit when it started courting Cingy. Says Mark Siegel, a Cingular spokesman, "I don't want to leave the impression that these (iPhone) customers are not ours. They are." Mark also mentioned that Cingular would field calls related to wireless service, and that "We think this is a win for Apple, and it is a win for Cingular." Whether consumers -- who would have presumably had a fair shot at an EV-DO iPhone with Verizon as a service provider -- will win in the end is yet to be seen.

I would guess somewhere around 2 years maybe. I have nothing, and I mean nothing to base that on of course LOL. I just figure that Apple has to be eyeing the rest of the market. And if I were ATT I would figure that anybody that hasn't switched over within the first 2 years are unlikely to. I would really like to have one, but we are tied to Verizon because of the OnStar in the Yukon.

I got a new one a while back because I was due for an upgrade.

NOt sure what my phone is called but its a Samsung and it flips open 2 ways, one to talk on the phone and the other way gives you a full keyboard to text. Its pretty good and has a looooooonnnnnnnnngggggggggggg battery life. its got a camera to.
