Damn man what wrong with you? Doesn't sound like fun but its probably no worse than going to the dentist.....
my knee been hurting for a while ,,last night at work that puppy swelled all up ,,he gave me a bunch of x-rays, strong anti inflamatory, some vicodin and made an appointment with an orthapedic doc to to get scoped ,,and two weeks off from work

Sorry to hear. I'm guessing you do a lot of standing at work. I see a pair of orthopedic shoes in your future. Hope it all works out.
Had mine done a few years back...was at work that afternoon...still a little dazed, but working.
Rested it for two days and then was in the gym rebuilding it.
Wife just got one of hers done...they have waited two weeks before Physical Therapy...
We both had meniscus tears...

with a good doc not bad all.....and with the meds nowadays never a reason to be feeling the pain.....good luck....problems with both knees and first one was done in the 70s and laid me up for awhile.....other about 5 yrs ago and up at work the next day...amazing the progress thats been made in this field....
Just had a shoulder scoped at Thanksgiving...lots of work done, but it is nearly healed and I have about 70% of the movement back should get another 20% over the next three months...scopes rock!

If it's just scoping to clean it up, then it's a quick recovery. If you tore a ligament it takes quite a bit longer, but still not bad. Knee surgery is light years ahead of where it was 10 years ago. If you get cut on, just make sure you ice it several times/day. That will help prevent it from swelling up too much and making it stiff. This is what I do for a living BTW
im going in monday for blood work ,,cause my other unswollen knee hurts a little bit,,but i have been putting all my weight (that is a tad too much ) on the other one ,love it when my fat ass doctor tells me to loose weight ,they want to test me for arthritis also
ironhead, let me give you some friendly advice, make them take care of the knee first, see if the arthritis goes away
my personal deal that happened
I am on the heart crap, well she changed my meds, a week later i had to run to the doc couldnt hardly walk, sent me to the arthritis doc, said I had rhumatoid, gave me meds, week later spots in the eyes, couldnt see well at night, went to eye doc, more meds.
got to talking to the eye doc, the meds the arthritis doc gave me, made me have spots in the eyes, went back to the arthritis doc, the meds the doc gave me for the heart deal, side effect was swolen joints,
so got pissed, thru it all in the trash, 4 days later.............every symptom was gone,
not saying docs suc, but fix one thing at a time buddy

man that sucks ,,,docs suck they are all test happy ,,,seems they want to check for everything till they can find something to get you on the hook
yup , one started something that started something else, kinda makes you loose faith in ya doc for sure

I finally come to the realization that they are all in cahootz, one rubs the others back and so forth, right on down the line, before ya know it, they want to operate, put a pump in ya pecker and ya take three days to pee and ya poop is purple, and ya dont have any sex drive!:argh::argh::argh:
