Ive been looking for something to play with, Been out of the car game for about 6 years now after the kids came.. I dont want to spend a lot of money on something new or build some that has a crazy amount of power... Been there done that it was fun but.....

So the reason im asking this, is there is a SRT-10 ram in my town, I dont know if it for sale but im thiking about knocking on the door and asking. The guy is in the natural gas businees. I'm guessing this was a impulse buy for him. Ive seen the truck out and about 3 or 4 times but dont really know anything about it other than its a regular cab and black. I do see him twice a week when i head into work, you have to use the same road to get to his "headquarters". He is always in something different, Porsche cayenne turbo, GT-3, Twin turbo 998 cab, Friday he was riding a bentley Convertiable, always stuff like that... So im guessing this was a impulse buy for him...

Anyway is there anything to look at, or know issues with the regular cabs that should be check out before buying one.

Depending on the year... The 04's had crank pin and weatherstripping issues...

Depending on the miles and how hard it was driven, of course...

Although I've had mine 97k miles now and I don't regret it not one little bit...

Forget about what the Nazi Moderator said, after 97K miles he's still learning, lol.

What he meant is some early SRT10 had Harmonic Balancer bolts come loose, there was never a pin per say, but not a bad idea. The SC guys do it for sure. They all had the weatherstripping issues where the gasket would catch the front edge of the door and rip. TSB on that!
The 04s had 4.10 gears versus 4.56 gears as well.
The Red ones were always slowest due to the production days of Red trucks being painted and Fridays, lol!

There was also a Cam Gear recall as some would have bolts backing out as well. Too much torque I guess, lol, or a need to loctite everything on the damn truck.:dontknow:

thanks guys,

I think ill stop by and see if anyone will come to the door.. For what i want, just a something fun to play with every now and then i think this would fit the bill..

That's what I was looking for when I bought mine. And it can haul more than just ass. Took care of my need of a truck and my desire for muscle car. Major fun weekend ride.:D
