I spoke to Arrow today about my rebuild. The newly rebuilt stock motor made 569 hp @ 5,500 and 592 ft-lbs torque at 4,200. I should have the engine back next week. I can't wait. I am sure the addition of my JMB pretty parts will help me pickup another 100 horsepower in powercoating.

Awesome news!

How is the Charger coming along?

Charger was replaced by Dodge. You must of missed that update...thanks for asking. New Charger feels much stronger than the last...wife loves it.

That means she has her warranty back in full (five years and 64,000 miles to go).

If you don't mind me asking how much was the rebuild?

Are you sure you want to know?...............Around $16K. It cost more to keep everything stock, but there are rebuilds that cost much more than mine.

It would be nice if those HP numbers would apply to our elevation. Glad your truck is on the road to recovery.

Thats about what it cost me to get another motor and have it replaced in my truck after the original threw a rod. The price included reinstalling the Paxton and all the other crap that had to go on it plus upgraded pistons. Still paying off this bill

Good to hear you'll have your truck back soon.

Sorry to inform you of this, but powdercoating only picks up half the HP of chroming. You are only getting 50 HP.;) :p :D

Nice numbers for a stocker.

Dang it...Check this out.

When I told Arrow what I was doing, they said that some people have had engine failures because to the Chroming process. I guess it can leave debris behind and subsequently kill the engine. Ouch.

That is true. You cannot have any chrome in the internal area of an engine. If it blisters and flakes off you will lose an engine.

what happened to our first motor? What did they do different to pick up a few extra ponies? And if ya had to rebuild it why not go a little crazy and go for some bigger numbers?

First engine ran out of oil due to a broken part...

More HP bascially from a better build (better specs, matched parts, better bearings)

I would have went wild , but with the build from Arrow, I will still have a warranty through Dodge.

I spend too much money on everything else to worry about paying for a blown motor.

Does that include the cost of pulling and re-installing the engine?

I ended up around 14k for the rebuild including dyno testing, door to door (less the Strikers). The only stock part of the shortblock assembly is the bare block itself! Hell, even some of the aftermarket stuff was modified before going into the engine. But that's with me (and tinygiants here & there) doing the install.

On Fairbanks Morse Oppossed Piston engines the domes of the pistons, and the complete liner is chromed. 5000 hp 24/7 365:) FYI

Glad you got your rig goin, so there not helping you at all?

Yes 16K includes install and replacing the oil cooler and oil lines...they need to get the broken bits out.
